Hleb - the nicest man on earth

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Hleb - the nicest man on earth

Post by DanielD »

As you know (or shall i say don't know), Alex Hleb has came with Belarus to Israel for a friendly duty agaisnt my country.

The Israeli Gunners Community came to give Hleb a warm welcome at the airport and he was excited like a little kid. He shock every hand, Signed any paper and smiled in every photo, simply Brilliant. When the israeli press (AKA one camera man and one reporter) asked him what does he think about the israeli Arsenal fans, he was very very appreciatable (one that appreciates).

Alex, I salute you.

Good to hear our boys are still humble and give the fans a bit of appreciation..Well done Alex.

Could that be eligable for a 'Well Played' in the next gooner??..

IT'S NICE TO KNOW THERE ARE STILL SOME PLAYERS OUT THERE THAT VALUE THE SUPPORT OF THE FANS. 8) MIND YOU, HE WAS PROBABLY JUST HAPPY AND A LITTLE SURPRISED NO-ONE WAS THERE TO HAVE A GO AT HIM FOR NOT SHOOTING!!

BY THE WAY, APPRECIATIVE IS THE WORD I THINK YOU WERE LOOKING FOR.

Yeah he signed my programme after the fulham game this season he comes across as a decent enough bloke, one of few footballers who doesn't let fame and money get to there head.

I was very busy with my work, but the main reason is that the Israeli Gunners forum was in need for an optimistic fan, because no one thought we could win the title, so i had to write there a lot. I hope now, that they believe we can actually do it (we can and we will).[/list]

That was great of him. I dunno how many players would actually do that. If any gunners play internationals over here I'll try and find out.

Roy Keane is a nice guy too. Signed an Irish jersey and sent it out to me, and signed a match program from Galway v Sunderland and sent that too.

From taking my cousin in the Family Enclosure a few years ago, my experience is that the foreign players were always the most willing to come over and sign autographs.

I'd like to meet Alex to see what he is like, Traore was a very nice guy, met him at the Derby game just after his trouble at WHL a week back, held up traffic for me & my mate to have a photo but i let him go off but he gave me a signed photocall photo insted
One that comes arcoss being very moody is Adebayor but whether the others are just the same i don't know, it's a shame i didn't grow up in the days when autograph collecting was easier, friendly & fun to do but now i see kids chasing the players down Holloway Road for one
Well played Alex

He did speak to us (and to the press as i said already) and again he was very nice, great bloke.

anyway, i was at the match today (israel - belarus friendly) and alex didn't really tried that hard to do anything in the match. The game itself was pretty boring and ended in a 2-1 win to Israel, Hleb played 65-70 minutes, but i can say that the fact that he played today shouldn't affect his position on the saturday's match.

my mate does a lot of work with Arsenal players and he tells me that Adebayor is actually a nice bloke and refers to my mate as bro! Fabregas is also very friendly (mind you he is looking after their cash so i guess they would be friendly to him). Hlebs wife is stunning and RVP is friendly too.

The worst player apparently is Flamini, he is arrogant, rude and a bit up his own arse so he tells me but in his experience a lot of the players who come from his region in France are similar.

No needs for names as Anelka sums it all up
Your mate is a lucky bugger lol, RVP was a nice chap when i met him just to shake there hands as i didn't have a autograph book etc etc at that point & i think back with the names i saw & met like Wenger
Eddy is nice but when i met him he couldn't speak hardly a thing, don't know if any different now but they all are ok but money is being payed into there bank unluck ours
