3D TV

It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

had a look in currys the other day, £849 for a 40inch with 3d blu ray player and 2 glasses.... and shrek 3d :?

not sure yet though as normal hd ones are coming right down in price now.

as you say there only 3d with an input and im not really a "dvd night in" person. unless you gonna dish out on sky 3d its not really worth it.

Extreme Anul Sluts 3D does sound appealing tho 8)

OK, I am assuming this is some sort of nerd joke. Help me. I have no idea what you are talking about.

I love my telly but even I think that 3D is a waste of money at the moment. Give it a Year and they will be half the price with a lot more content.
I have heard that the glasses supplied get uncomfortable after a while and people get headaches.

If you go ahead with buying it,despite my best advice enjoy. :barscarf:

3d is a load of bollocks anyway, dont bother. get a nice 1080p tv from currys a couple days before christmas (they'll have plenty in stock by then) and ask them which one is going to be in the sale boxing day, tell them you'll pay full price for it anyway, and go into a different shop a couple days into the sale and make a fuss about how the price of your tv has been slashed - hey presto difference back in your pocket and you had the thing for the bond film miracle on 34th street

If you were planning on buying a tv at this time anyway then go for it. BUT if you are just buying for the 3d give it 12 months.

Home 3d is still limited and there isnt actually much 3d on the market, hence only one sky 3d channel. Plus the 3d blueray/dvd player market is almost non existent. In otherwords(and again  sorry) dont buy one just for the sake of 3d, if you need a new one than any 3d tv 50in £1000 or lower is good.

Do consider the glasses though....this is where the real price is at!!!! There are all types of glasses being devolped and released with different quality. You will have to spend at least £70 each for a good and comfortable pair of glasses......its not like a tv remote, you sit on these and break em your talking quite a bit for a replacement, also gunna cost a bit if you plan having mates around to watch.

Personally im gunna wait. 3d as a mass market product/home is in its infancy, most programmes arent filmed in hd let alone 3d that at the moment there isnt enough 3d programming/dvds to justify a 3d tv....at the moment.

Getting the front room redecorated and have a mate in the trade who is doing me a fantastic deal on the tv.

The circumstances are right to persuade Mrs Chippy this is a good idea!
