‘Bear’ tributes submitted to Arsenal FC (19/10)

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

‘Bear’ tributes submitted to Arsenal FC (19/10)

usual thread starter… Arsenal are saying that they cannot change their policy on obituaries for fans and, on that basis, are unable to publish the tributes submitted to them that we have subsequently posted on this exclusive. The club asked us if we could put them online. I don’t want to get into the rights and wrongs of that here. The untimely death of the subject of the messages is bigger than that debate on today of all days. All I will say is that onlinegooner took the decision to run them here on the basis that they were submitted so that they could be read. If we didn’t post them, these tributes would not be seen by anyone, so given the strength of feelings about The Bear, we have ensured that at least they can be read somewhere, even if not the place the writers had intended. In weighing up whether to assist in getting the club out of a hole and the desire for those that sent tributes in that they wanted to be seen, we have made a decision to prioritise the latter. That decision was based on respect for the family of Dainton Connell. If in taking that decision we have offended anyone, we can only apologise.

Don't be worried Gooner you have done your bit it's such a shame those low men at the Club continue to insult the family and fans, alike.

These low low men decided on a cunning wheeze to put off those organising his funeral to have a 3 hour wake at the ground.

By asking for £67,000 a price far in excess of their normal tarrif ,they thought the Organisers would choke on the price and go elsewhere.
The Organisers ,unpeturbed by the asking price marched on and a meeting on Friday 12th Oct at 1600 hours was arranged to finalise the details and pay Arsenal the crock of Gold demanded.

These shameful people who run our club rang the Organisers @ approximately 1530 and told them the meeting was off and they would no longer be doing the event.

After much handwringing they explained that it is policy not to have events 1 day before a game, this lie was nailed as the organisers said they would have the funeral and wake another day but again these liars
retreated saying they would have no part of this arranhgement.

Involved in this debacle was Edelman himslef and David Miles to name just two although there are more invloved too.

The Club have showed their true colours by snubbing it's greatest fan and insulted his name, family and friends many thousands of whom are season ticket holders.

All this at a time when they are actively cultivating fan participation in their so called quest to stave off foreign ownership.
All they are really doing is trying to bolster the share price so they can cash in buy selling to the higehst bidder in a year or two's time.

We should not be surprised, after all they have allready sold their souls to the Devil.

SHAME ON THEM ALL !

Dito to your comment Herd
They forget that we work in order to keep that club going, £1,000 season ticket, £5 hot dogs, £3 programmes, £40 shirts & whatever else they make out of us
I know now that if i died now that i wouldn't want my funneral held at the Arsenal
I bet if they got that woman who gives every penny to go & watch a Arsenal game they would lower the price for her, that would be ultar bollocks
Denton like all of us payed alot of his money into Arsenal to go & watch the Gunners & also to go the next level to support Arsenal & fight for the passion for the club back in the 70's & 80's
If that prick KE sat next to me now i'd have a few good things to say about Dentons funneral & hoped he drove past the cannons to look at the many bears & flowers placed
