Arsenal a stronger club since Dein’s departure (19/10)

Arsenal a stronger club since Dein’s departure (19/10)

usual thread starter… the uproar over the club’s decision to change their mind about letting the stadium be used for the wake after today’s funeral has had some fans thinking they’d prefer usmanov and dein to the current board. It was certainly handled very, very badly. Why not just say no at the outset instead of quoting a price? As much a shambles as elements of the AGM, but with far greater impact given the circumstances. the event would have been just for family and close friends, i am sure with limited numbers. did the club think they were going to smash the place up on the day of the funeral? by hiring out the venue arsenal are not making any kind of statement, but i reckon this is what they feared. but it was a private event and should have been handled as such. it's left a very bitter taste in the mouth for those close to the deceased and many others besides. just another example of the club getting it so wrong.

The poster with the rant in the website you linked too needs to calm down and no offence, why should Arsenal mention the late Mr Denton in their history book? Maybe I'm missing something, he was a great fan and a popular one, he does sound like a lovely bloke but what exactly did he do? Forgive my ignorance of this matter and hope nobody takes offence, I have wondered for awhile but not had the courage to ask

The price was way too high and it wasn't nice to cancel at the last minute like that, certainly disgraceful, if they knew there was a match on then why did they not cancel it earlier? In PR terms, this was really really stupid and in terms of humanity, Edelmen needs a clip round the ear for not just allowing a limited amount of family and friends for the wake. Still, there was the risk of happens once, it will open the floodgates, that I can understand but this was very badly handled.
