Yeah I s'pose you're right Rebel I've looked at it again and I can't really argue with any of the choices matbe Petit instead of the Romford Poodle sorry Pele but I loved Parlour cos he was totally committed not to mention underrated and improved immensely under Wenger, and how typical is it of AW to show no prejudice in picking Cashley!

Just looking back at the players under Wenger from 11 years, it seems as it will be a £15 DVD for nothing much, is it me or are Arsenal starting to take the piss like the Opus

Obviously Song hasn't been around long enough to get in. Otherwise I'm sure he'd be there somewhere. Probably ahead of Viera.
Well absolutely nothing wrong with the strikers i.m.o.
Midfield the only question would be Parlour, but I suppose its alright.
Defence I suppose Cashley is questionable, but before he did what he did I'm sure we all would have been happy to have him there.

Parlour?! Are you having a fucking laugh? Decent player and whatnot, but having him in there ahead of Petit? That's just ridiculous.
Elsewhere; I always had a soft spot for Si(y)lvinho, but to be fair, over the whole Wenger era, Hole is probably the best we've had. Give it a few years and I think Mr. Clichy will definitely have dethroned him, though.
I would have thought TA and Marcy Marc would have been strong candidates, but who am I to question Le Boss?
An alternative XI
Shaaban
Luzhny (probably a little unfair on The Horse, but I couldn't think of anyone else)
Stepanovs
Cygan
Vivas
Boa Morte
Garde
Inamoto
Mendez
Diawara
Jeffers

Re: Arsene's 11
TA6 ahead of Keown. Nutty ahead of Hole (personal, that one). Lauren ahead of Dicko??!! No way. Petit deffo ahead of Ray (I loved Ray, he gave EVERYTHING for us, but skill-wise, Petit was awesome) and no Ian Wright Wright Wright?? Who said he didn't get on with Wenger??Belfast Boy wrote:It's out on DVD next week and apparently the line up is

Fuck Arsene's 11, it would have to be Arsene's 15 for me;
..............................................Seamo...................................
Dicko.....................Toure.................TA6/Keown................ Nutty
Ljungberg................. Petit/Parlour................Vieira..............MO14/Pires
............................IWWW/THBW14.....................DB10
And then we'd have to add Clichy, RVP and (sorry IHH) Hleb

Well not saying that Palour wasn't any good but he should be droped to the subs bench with EP17
Otherwise the side i can't say much about but it would of been nice for Overmars to be there
As much as i hate Ashley i still think he is one of the best left backs around but now i won't go far enough to call him a legend
No Ian Wright
best be on the bench
Lauren or Dixon, both great on there day
Tony Adams not around
also best be on the bench or maybe swap with Kolo
Seaman, def yes for sub goalie either Jens or Alex Manninger but Alex obs didn't get as many games as old Jens has had
So my Wenger team would be
Seaman
Lauren on his day
Cole
Keown
Adams
Freddie
Bobby/Overmars
Paddy
Manu
Henry
Bergkamp
subs: Manninger/Jens, Kolo, Bobby/Overmars, Wright (he didn't get the full best out of him but come on
) & Dixon

We haven't had one of these debates for a while...
A partner for Vieira? There's only one choice and it isn't pony-tailed one: it has to be Fabregas.
At left-back, even ignoring the fact that Cole is a treacherous, greedy, no-mark, mobile-fucking little *word censored*, I think Clichy is already better than him, and has performed better both last year and so far this season. Winterburn tugs at the heart-strings but for me Clichy shades it over him too.
Dixon and Adams definitley in, no question. Ralph was a solid servant but Dixon gave more to the team. I guess there's an argument that the best of Adams predated Wenger, whereas Keown's prime was post 1997, but Adams was always superior to Keown. Campbell must be a good shout at CB too though.
And I'd have Lehmann in ahead of Seaman, though I'd like to think one day we'll have a keeper better than both of them.
So:
.................................................Lehmann.............................................
........Dixon.................Toure...................Adams.......................Clichy....
.........Ljungberg.............Cesc.................Vieira........................Pires.......
.............................Bergkamp............................Henry...........................
And while we're on this nostalgia tip, anyone see this week's coverage of La Liga? Villarreal beat Barca 3-1, in a game that not only saw Bobby Pires win two penalties and put in a top performance, but saw Pascal Cygan pretty much get the better of Thierry Henry.
