New Years eve 1963 in the Arcadia Ballroom lower Glanmire road Cork.
At 23 55 i walked across the floor to ask a girl to dance. This was an era when girls stood on one side and Boys on the other,and it took a lot of courage to walk across the floor with thousands of eyes watching to see if she would say yes or no.
My invitation was accepted and we took to the floor
Joe Mac the singer was as usual doing his stuff coming up to midnight,
10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 ,Happy New Year,Kiss the Girl your dancing with he says.

47 years later i'm still kissing the same girl at midnight new Years Eve.

IHH,The one thing you could guarantee in them days is that 99.9% of 16 year old girls were still virginal and pure, unfortunately :cry:
