The perfect 6th goal
I remember Robert Pires saying that Le Boss watched basketball and wondered whether it was possible to adapt the fast break move where a player rebounds the ball passes to an outlet player on the wing, and then sprints the length of the pitch to finish the move at the other end. In basketball this is possible because the length of the court is 30 yards . Last night Cesc cleared the corner, headed to the wing. The ball moved from the outlet player to Adebayor who layed it onto Theo whose first time pass of course was met by Cesc., who planted the ball in the net.I should have timed the move when I watched the highlights after getting back from the game.
I genuinely have never seen such a perfectly executed goal. A coach's dream.

Lovely goal, but in the great days of Henry-Pires-Bergkamp-Freddie a few years ago we used to break beautifully on a regular basis and score some superb goals. It got to the stage where defending a corner was an attacking opportunity for us.
But don't get me wrong, Cesc's goal last night was very special. I just hope we'll be seeing more of those in the months and years to come.

I said to my dad, thats the sort of goal the "Invincibles" were scoring on a regular basis. Although this team are very different, to have the ability to break from an opposition corner and score is something that will mentally affect any team and we need that "fear factor" back..I think scoring 7 goals in europe is a decent warning to everyone, the boys mean business!!
Wengers teams are always capable of scoring goals like the 6th goal last night.Even last season remember the stunning goal Henry scored up at Blackburn when the move started by the corner flag. When Henry and Cesc played one two"s to the edge of the Blackburn box then Henry hit a first-timer into the top corner.
True, but those goals have become a bit of a rarity in the last couple of years.donaldo wrote:Wengers teams are always capable of scoring goals like the 6th goal last night.Even last season remember the stunning goal Henry scored up at Blackburn when the move started by the corner flag. When Henry and Cesc played one two"s to the edge of the Blackburn box then Henry hit a first-timer into the top corner.

Totally agree, my mate texted me last night asking if I was watching the highlights (does a bear sh*t in the proverbial?!?!) and I texted him back saying that I think the 6th goal is perhaps the best team goal Ive ever seen. The sheer speed and accuracy of thought and execution is just staggering
There is surely no team playing with the style, confidence and (very pleasingly) enjoyment that the Arsenal are at the moment, long may it continue!
