Gordon Ramsay's Shark Bait - Sick Bastards.

It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

Gordon Ramsay's Shark Bait - Sick Bastards.

Post by Arsenal 1991 »

Did anyone see this, apparently a lot of people like drinking shark fin soup and pay a lot for the privilege. Not only are they catching endangered species but they are catching baby sharks too, so making it even worse

They show a video of a hammerhead shark being caught and then all its fins being cut off while it was still alive. Then the *word censored* threw it back into the sea. They are even using shark meat as bait because it is worthless compared to the fins.

Absolutely disgusting. Imagine the outcry if (as Gordon said) someone cut off a Lion's legs and then just left it to die.

I know they are only sharks and they have a bad reputation but it is still shocking that people can do this to living things. They should be shot.

It takes a lot to shock me but this programme seriously did.

Cut their fins off and chuck them back into the sea?

in a basic sense yeah, because we kill them to eat them, but its the wasteage and unregulated nature of shark finning thats horrible. from the footage shown, a shark is caught (doesn't matter how small or rare or whatever) the fins are chopped off and the rest of it is thrown back into the sea. when a cow is slaughtered, think of all the cuts of beef there are and how little of the animal is wasted, and also the humane way in which they are killed (in this country anyway) all for a dish which (apparently) is bland and shit and is only eaten because it is traditionally seen as a sign of affluence.

I thought the sharks would be pleased.

With their fins cut off shouldn't it be easier to sneak up on fat americans waddling out to sea?

We're doing them a fucking favour. Ungrateful bastards.
