Silver membership question

Post by Rilo »

Maybe this isn't the right place to ask, but I thought I'd try:

Are there any silver members here who have been promoted from red membership? I've been a red member since the start of last season and am just wondering if anyone knows what sort of timescale I'm looking at before I get upgraded.

To be fair, I am able to get very good tickets for most matches now that we have moved, but I would like the chance to get to the big games too.

Cheers

I have been a Red member since day one and not been offered Silver, I expect it to take a few years to be honest.

Ok thanks, I thought that would be the case. I have never met any silver member who had been upgraded from red, only those that joined as silver at the start.

Just out of interest, how long has this scheme been in place? Just want to get some sort of idea at how long people have been waiting.

No, I am on the season ticket waiting list but only have been for about 4 years. I was offered Club Level but not a regular season ticket. I joined Red membership as soon as it came out. I wonder what the critera were then? Arsenal's ticket allocation policy is somethimes a bit of a mystery but if you want a ticket enough, you can usually get hold of one somehow!

Lisa, you must be almost top of the list for siver membership. I think i was roughly a red member for 5/6 years. As you say though, the whole membership scheme is a bit hit and miss.

Not sure if this is the case ut im a silver member from when it first began back in the nineties, when I joined it was linited to set no. , I was under the impression there is a waiting list to become a silver member. New statdium has improved red member chances though, I have noticed even the big games like man u and scum being sold to red

There are definitely a lot more tickets available to red members this season, and a much better seats available. However, we still don't get a look in for the big games. I've been able to get tickets to every game this season except for Man Ure, Spuds and Liverpool, which all sold out at silver level.

Dont get me wrong, I love the fact that I'm able to go to so many matches this season, it would just be nice to get to the massive games too.

My problem is that I live in Holland now for work. If I got offered a Season Ticket I would have to decline! Harsh but true. AND I am moving to Australia this year for my next job.

Rilo, mind if I asked how much the Red Member tickets that do tend to be available cost? Once Silver Members have had their feed, is it only the pricey tickets that are left?

I'm a season ticket holder myself but the good lady wife is a Red Member and always wanting tickets.

The day tickets go onsale to red members there are nearly always seats available top tier in the south stand (i think its south stand anyway - behind the goal at the away fans end)

These tickets go for about £42 for rows higher than about 7, and £46 for rows lower than that. I usually go for the £46 tickets, normally pretty easy to get row 1 or 2 with them.
Doesnt really matter though. I've used various peoples tickets for other matches and there isnt a bad view in the house.

From time to time, other sections have tickets available to red members, but usually the place I said above is all that's left.

The season ticket waiting list is totally separate to the membership scheme.

Rilo, when you say day tickets, do you mean tickets purchased at the Box Office on the day of the match? If so do you need to get there early to snap these up?
Cheers mate.

if the box office get late returns they will sell them to allcomers at the box office - but i am talking about the day before a game or the day of the game. but they won't hold them for requestees, it's pure luck turning up the moment after the tickets have been returned (or the card allocated a seat has been cancelled) and asking.

i was buying an away ticket before the charlton game at the box office by the north bank bridge and heard one of the box office staff tell this to the people in front of me. they were hoping to buy a pair of man utd tickets and weren't even members!

so you can get tickets from the club if you are not a member, if you are in the right place... at the right time... but it is one hell of a long shot.
