Wenger got it right tonight

Wenger got it right tonight

Post by Champagne Charlie »

Tactics, man management, substitutions especially.

Let's hope he'll do the same at Camp Nou.

Would have preferred he left Theo on and took off Nasri who barely ran.

In hindsight though quartz if he had taken nasri off there would be no 2nd goal maybe

For once, the changes he made were spot on. Even bringing Bendtner on was a good move imo.

Maybe.

But Nasri was very quiet all game and clearly was not able to sprint, he moved very cautiously.
Would have preferred that Arshavin came on earlier for Nasri.

He would've played it behind him.

In Bendtner's mind, his introduction changed the game single-handedly.

Actually he wasn't spot on tonight. In the first half we sat off them and gave them far too much room to pass around us. In the second half we got to them quicker and didn't allow them quite the same room...most of the time!

So you were happy with Nasri's performance tonight?

One assist, one moment of close control, and he was anonymous the rest of the game.

A recurring fault was when our defence showed poor communication for the opposition goal, Clichy and Koscielny doing whatever came into their individual minds and failing to mark different opponents left a lot of space for David Villa.
Does Arsene know how to coach defence?
Not so sure about that.

We won the first leg, I am happy about that, but it was not a resounding win.

Nasri gamble paid off. Wilshere played like the best midfielder in the world; he made both Xavi and Iniesta look bad.
