Arsenal vs Sheffield United Carling Cup

Post by Justin-the-Gooner »

Fabianski

Hoyte
Song
Gilberto
Traore

Eboue
Diarra
Denilson
Diaby

Bendtner
Dudu

SUBS
Lehmann
Nordveit
Merida
Gibbs
Walcott

That would be my time. I would be happy with a win. It is live on sky sports 1 on Wednsday. It will be a hard place to go to in midweek and a win would be good for the young team.

Strict new diets? I bet Huddlestone's worried. No more double helpings of eyeball and anus meat pie from the Spuds snack vendors.

Surely Lehmann will be in goal??! Do you think AW's thinking for leaving Gilberto out was that he would find it insulting to be in the Carling Cup / Reserve team? Diarra definately needs a game though because he's not even had a subs appearance. Guess the theory is you can't have two defensive midfielders and Gilberto has played more than Diarra :?

It's only right that Diarra gets the start after his great display when the Geordies came to town.

If you were to be slightly critical(which by a new law I am not allowed to be) you would point at the fact that we have 4 centre midfielders(diarra, bert, diaby & denilson) due a game tomorrow night as they havent been playing enough 1st team football lately while we dont have any centre backs in that situation unless senderos is fit. If we play bert at centre back is he being told that he is now viewed as a centre back ? The keeper situation should be interesting but I feel wenger will opt for jens cos otherwise the shit will really hit the fan  The only reason I would play eboue is so that he might pick up an injury(nothing too serious mind) that will keep him out of the 1st team for a while allowing someone else to claim that spot :D

Why should Lehmann be in goal?

Wenger uses the CC to play youngsters, and thus far Fabianski has done nothing to lose his place in the CC squad, least of all to Lehmann.

Depart London Gateway at 2.30pm
The return journey should take approximately 3 hours and 15 minutes.
