Charity mate

It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

Charity mate

Post by LeftfootlegendGooner »

Ok I tried this a couple of times earlier and fucked up but think i have cracked it now.

This was just a quick thread to post a pic of me doing a sponsored abseil at Guys Hospital, the money goes to The Ronald Mcdonald house and goes towards providing a Home form Home for families whoes children are seriously ill.

It is for a London Hospital and I know I am a Hampshire Hog but I was volunteered for this at the last minute after someone dropped out and it is for a worthy cause.

I was an industrial roofer for a few years so have no problem with heights but when when I stepped over the barrier and looked down 465 feet my first thought was "fucking hell i could be playing golf right now"

Anyhow I did this Saturday so was on a bit of a high afterwards so when looking on my mobile for Arsenals result I actually only sighed when i saw it.
(then it was onto various bars alongside the thames and getting rather trollied).

Usually it would have been a big "for fucks sake" followed by some self harm but this time i had reason to view it with a big pinch of perspective.

So I was just wondering what other challenges i could compete in every Saturday/Sunday and maybe midweek so that I can forget this fucking title race and then be able to view the inevitable disappointment with some sort of perspective.

Feel free to chuck it in the basement but as i very rarely venture down there (apprat forma an hour ago when trying to post a pic many times   ) I just put it here

Here is part of a wall from the Ronald McDonald house.

Well done LeftfootlegendGooner, a great cause and in real terms what you did is equivalent to DB10Gooner abseiling down Everest.
