The who's giving up their season ticket thread?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

The who's giving up their season ticket thread?

Post by frankbutcher »

We have 3 in the family. We are giving one up. Might try to rent another one out as well.

I have it on good authority that tickets will go up 6.5%.

Arsenal = Greedy Fuckers

The cheek of the club is astounding. Bet you we won't be officially informed till after the Villa game/BSM march.

Me for definite.
I sounded out the guys who sit either side of me before the Moan U game to see if either of them wanted my ST next season.......both said they'd think about it. I'm hoping one of them have it, if they don't I'm going to try to drop down to Silver, courtesy of my 'A' bond and get rid of the ST. I've really torn myself up trying to decide what to do for the best. I'm being made redundant in November, so that tied with the fact that I hate Wenger and his bullshit so much means the ST has to go. As I've said before, I've had the ST for 31 years so it's not an easy decision but it shows just how angry and disappointed I am with Wenger and the board. I've just had enough.

Re newing mine but again leaves you dumbfounded that the club can consider the increase when they must have seen thousands of empty seats at certain times this season. If you dont renew then there are desparate others that will fill your place.

Thinking about it....perhaps renting it out, don't know.

Loathe to do it as I've had a season ticket since 1886.

Call me crazy, rather then cutting back I'm picking up more! :?

I'm due to get offered 2 more season tickets for the Family this year.

I've two that were in the 5,000's last year but after the last refresh their now down to 700's. So highly likely they will come up.
My Uncle's agreed to take one and will probably rent the other.

I'm renting one out, problem is it is a 'catch 22' situation. If people don't renew then the club will have loads of AKBs and JCLs that would happily take our place. :banghead:

Having said that the one I'm renting out has shitloads of away credits on so it does have some perks :barscarf:

Im renewing, not sure how im going to pay for it yet, but im definatley renewing. The bad news is my uncle who i go with, who has had these season tickets since the late sixties, wont be. he has just retired, and the old man just does not seem to have the energy of previous years! so i now have to figure out a way to pay his one before deadline so we dont loose it!

Whoever owns the club, manages it, plays for it, etc.. ill be there supporting, but this summer they need to pay some of our support back with decent signings and abit of that much mentioned 'desire to win' because howver much it has been said this season, its just did not exist!

Having waited years to actually get a season ticket in my name I have to admit that it is doubtful that I will give it up so quickly now. What I am considering is either asking the club if I can defer it for next season or maybe I will rent it out. What I will say with absolute certainty is that if wenger and the current policies remain in place next season then you can count the number of times I will travel over on one hand - the club can try and fool people with fake attendance figures all they like but the pictures wont lie and when the tv shows all those empty seats (inc mine) at matches then I have no doubt it will generate some attention in the media and within the club

PS I know that it was discussed last season but how do I go about changing the location of my season tickets ? Where I am positioned now aint bad (lower tier beside corner flag) but I would like to explore the possibility of staying lower tier behind the goals

Ring up and ask the club, augie.

I expressed an interest in moving along with 2 others, and registered that interest with the box office. I got lucky though, rang back one day in June with a different query, and the guy looked and said that they had 3 seats where I wanted them, and he sorted it out over the phone there and then.

Seemed to work ok - might ring the board and ask if they can move a pen into Arsene Wenger's hand, and then his person nearer to the cheque book.

My old man won't give up ours. Waited years for them and even with the price increase it's highly unlikely we would part with them.

His reasoning is that we will eventually come good again and he wants to be there when it happens.

Had a quick search but can anyone send me the link with the breakdown of the current ST costs?
