7 cup matches on season ticket
7 cup matches on season ticket
Was wondering where people stand on the 7 cup matches on the season ticket.
This year we got 3 shitty teams in CL group stage and Leeds, Huddersfield and Orient in FA cup.
Granted the Barca game was a topper harley. But for me I would prefer if they weren't on it and we had the option to buy. FA Cup games + replays are such short notice that flights etc costs more.

Bit of a no-brainer of a poll. Its just another way that Arsenal, and pretty much only Arsenal, squeeze more cash out of its supporters. You pay up front without even knowing who the opposition are. The CL group games are usually tension free near training games. And then you get the situation whereby the teams inability to deal with O's in the frist game cost every season ticket holder the last cup game credit. I was one of the few that actually turned up for that replay.
Chelsea prices, Season tickects are EPL only at a similar per ticket price. CL games £30 everywhere, Cup games £25 I think. Season ticket holders get first dibs on their seat for all cup and CL games.

If the cup credits weren't in the season ticket price, half the ST holders wouldn't bother going to the early rounds of the competitions and as such the turnout would be low.
This way they are guaranteed a decent return for these matches regardless of who we play.
Another crafty little con they shaft us with.

I have worked out that if you removed the cup games from these inflated season ticket prices, a north bank lower ticket would cost just over 700 quid. Would be that little bit more easier to afford and we get to choose if we want to go to cup games. Also paying 36 quid or so as a one off isn't too bad if you were going.

Have AISA or AST ever put forward the proposal to Arsenal that they should take off the value of the 7 Cup Credits from the Season Ticket price? And if not, why not?
Surely that would be a good way of serving the interests of the fans?
Not only would it make ST cheaper, it would also free up more tickets for Silver and Red Members.

Liverpool give priority to those fans who have been to the most games in that competition. Prevents what happened this season where I guess Wembley would have been maybe only the first or second Carling Cup game of the season for a lot of gooners.slevinlacey wrote:Scrap the credits.
ST holders have the right to buy their seat for cup/cl games but then if for example Arsenal made the SF/Finals of a competition the members with the most cup credits get priority.
Our away points system and cup final system is outdated.
It would be an obvious way of being a lot fairer on fans ,many of whom have been hard hit by the recession. If you want to go to the cup games, you can pay on top, therefore if times are hard, at least you might still be able to keep your ST and go to all the league games. As always though, clubs dont give a fuck about their fans, much though they pretend they do in statements etc, they just want to guarantee that they get the money in rather than risk having a relatively low number of sales for a cup match- it might mean some loyal fans cant afford to keep going, but fuck them, theres a load of plastic middle class wankers who would have been too scared to step foot in Highbury in the 70s that will happily take their placeI Hate Hleb wrote:Have AISA or AST ever put forward the proposal to Arsenal that they should take off the value of the 7 Cup Credits from the Season Ticket price? Forcing fans to purchase cup games does seem like an utter con. In terms of loyalty points, I think Sunderland do it quite well and its probably a system most clubs should follow (several do and it seems the fairest way to do it):
Season ticket covers only the league games (with option to pay in 4 installments, interest free)
Every away game you apply for, you get a loyalty point. This point is awarded regardless of whether or not your application is successful, so if you keep on applying, you will eventually start getting tickets (nowadays many aways dont sell out like, but still, it guarantees that "new" fans can get tickets if they keep at it even if matches are regularly oversubscribed)
The loyalty points awarded are kept on your record for the current season, and the 3 seasons before (so that people who used to go regularly 10 years ago and now dont bother cant just apply for Newcastle away etc).
If we get to a cup final (i fucking wish), the fans with the highest loyalty points get the tickets, so it might be the first FA Cup game they've gone to, but they have put more miles into following the team than someone who has possibly only gone to FA Cup games, and so they deserve to go to the final
It isnt a perfect system (some people apply for away games just to get the loyalty point then sell the ticket on, meaning they never really go away but still get tickets for the big games), but it is as close to being fair as I think things get. As I say though, clubs arent bothered about being fair to their fans, they just want their money. Eventually the middle class "obsession" with the "PL" will die down and these clubs will be begging their traditional fans to come back, and they'll be told to fuck right off
Cup games included or not mean fvck all. Its just another marketing ploy because you'll pay for ALL cup games whether you attend or you dont.
Same as most clubs really.
Whilst out season ticket bar club level is expensive, its not that expensive when considering how much you ACTUALLY pay come END of the season. Still expensive though
Anyway ticket exchange is a great idea, to my recollection i think we are the only club offering it.
