Starting 11

Post by goonerk »

This season has thrown one or two surprises in terms of selection, notably the goalkeeping issue and flaminal. Would be interesting to find out, in the wake of our recent matches and the slight dip in the form of flaminal, your preferable starting 11...should we be playing in the champions league tomorrow...

Mine would be

Lehmann (sorry manuel, but i just feel safer with jens)
Sagna
Clichy
Toure
Gallas
Hleb
Rosicky
Diarra (going to be a legend)
Fabregas
RVP
Adebayor

hope tonysaunders hasnt read this post

im with you thou and cant wait for diarra to get a good run out in the middle as i to feel he is a great player just waiting to happen,, i know flamini's been playing well but he's not the long term answer,,

as for the keeper ,, jens before manuel but if i had a choice then neither

FLANIMALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!

See, it's 'Flanimal' as opposed to 'Flaminal' because he is like a fucking animal, not an aminal.

Still, you say 'tomato', I say 'tomato' (that doesn't work that well on a forum...). I'm just happy people are using it!

putting aside quality, personal jibes, form, injuries etc.
If I was to pick a fully fit (mantally and physically) starting 11 it would be:

Jens
Sagna
Toure
Gallas
Clichy
Hleb
Rosicky
Cesc
Gilberto
RvP
Adebayor

Sorry Rebel but i think Walcott on the left/right side of midfield is a waste of space in my humble opinion if he isnt up front then he shouldnt play.

I agree Rosicky hasnt done as well as i would have imagined or hoped but id still rather have him in THAT position than Walcott, i just think Walcott often goes missing out wide. My 11 would be

Lehmann (if he sorts his attitude out)

Clichy
Gallas
Toure
Sagna

Rosicky
Fabrgas
Gilberto
Hleb

Van Persie
Adebayor

I agree that the Flanimal has done well but i think Gilberto is so under rated and in time id like to see Adebayor replaced with Walcott or Eduardo

I actually really like Tommy, so I'd have him in.

Also, just a heads up to the three of you who put Adebayor in your starting lineups - you put Adebayor in your starting lineups!!!!!

I'm sure these were just typos. Might want to edit your posts though

Have people forgot about Diaby? He should still be ahead of at least Diarra in my opinion. With all the quality we got in central midfield I reckon Wenger should try to use 3 of them as often as he can. Diaby Flamini Fabregas would be intresting.
