Anyone English & Good Enough?

Post by Charlie! Charlie! »

Driving home listening to talksport tonight an interesting point was raised regarding our style of play - in a nutshell Coppell does not think that there are many English players around that are technically good enough to play the "Arsenal Way". This prompted much debate about the top English players like Fat Frank, Gerrard etc and would they a) get in our current side and b) be able to play our style?
That twat Durham said that if Scholes was at Arsenal he would be our best player - he is such a fucking wind up merchant and I always bite!
So, does anyone look at the current crop of England players and think they would improve us? Are our foreign stars just suited more to our gaffas's coaching style?

I'd have Terry, Richards, Gerrard, Joe Cole and Wayne Rooney.

Although I'm guessing that combination of players would cost somewhere near £200m, so fuck it.

Let's just have Titus Bramble and Emile Heskey.

When sven tried to get them playing the diamond formation, they couldn't adjust to it and asked to go back to 4-4-2 with rigid positions.

So just ask yourself if they could adapt to the Arsenal way....

Scholes would fit in...other than that, no.

micah richards and shrek would fit right in and improve our team . i rate gerrard very highly but with Fab already in the lineup he would not fit in , since we need a defensive midfielder playing alongside like flanimal or gilberto etc

Do not agree that Cesc and Gerrard could not play together In my eyes that is a dream pairing!

Wenger could make those two work together easy with the understanding of one going and the other holding....people forget that Viera and Petit played that way!

Mich Richards would be a huge huge plus but I cannot see it happening! Shrek would be good as would John Terry but I anit so sure on Joe Cole.

I would happily add Scott Carson, Ben Foster or Robert Green to our squad as I feel all three are better bets than Almunia long term.

Now the big one ....literally.....I wouldn't mind having the services of Crouch to call upon! Now I know thats controversial but he can turn games and he does bring a different aspect to the game! No I wouldn't want him as our figurehead striker but I see no reason why he would not be a great squad player.
