FC Arsenal

Post by Irish Gooner »

Do you think a club like FC United or AFC Liverpool would ever be set by our fans down the line. Lets be honest ticket prices continually rising pricing people out, the atmosphere at Bowl deteriorating. AFC Liverpool even started for far less then whats happening our club, we have far dearer prices and at least they still play at Anfield.

Mug players milking fans for 60k a week like Barry, Denilson, Almunia, Diaby, when they cant kick the ball straight or run because they arent arsed. Club run by a pack of mercenary board members out to take as much as they can now Americans of the same ilk.

Disrespecting the clubs traditions, wearing jockey away kit for next season, white spurs kits. Shit badges and crests, and mottos like "forward".

It wont happen I know, but all the shit thats happened the last few years is very frustrating.... :banghead:

If the Premier League bubble hasn't burst by 2015 I will probably be priced out of the game and I'd consider following an AFC Arsenal type of club, run by the fans for the fans!

I think it would be great if fans did start up an AFC Arsenal but don't kid yourself that AFC Liverpool started for "far less than what's happening at our club". The only reason they still play at Anfield is that they couldn't afford to move.... And their ticket prices have increased over the last few years at a far higher rate than ours! And do you really think that we are the only club with "mug players milking fans for £60k a week....."? At least most of ours are squad players whereas there are plenty of mug players in the first teams of most Premier League clubs!

Also, it looks to me like FC United and AFC Liverpool are run on very different lines. FC United is aimed at the local community regardless of who they support whereas AFC Liverpool is aimed very much at supporters of that particular club.

It all depends on what happens over next year, even if we are all fed up of the way the club has treated us the growing vocal discontent has at least made the board and manager take note.

If things start to change, if the club makes some visible progress in the league and in the transfer market, if the board stop trying to con us with price hikes and half-assed schemes to take more of our money then something like this will only be a suggestion. However if we are in the same place next year, or worse off then this year then I would expect this to get more serious discussion and a lot more momentium.

Not something I would rule out, but would only really consider it as a last resort if things start to get more and more unreasonable.

How have the manager and the board taken note?

Maybe I should have phrased it better, I meant to say that they are at least aware of how unhappy several fans are, and i'm sure those fans will only get more and more vocal as time goes on. Whether or not that means things will change or the club will react accordingly to it is another matter however.

The manager and board might be aware of the disenchantment amongst the fans but please do not expect our feelings to make the slightest difference to the attitude of wenger, the board or the lazy arse fcuking bottlers in our squad as our "esteemed" chairman has already dismissed us fans as peasants

As regards starting up a new club I will say that I understand the thinking behind it but as far as I am concerned Arsenal FC is my club, was my club before wenger ivan and stan came along and will be my club long after they are those useless *word censored* players have fcuked off so I'll be damned if I will let them *word censored* run me out of my club    I am now at the point where I am refusing to give these *word censored* anymore of my money than is absolutely necessary (season tkts and I am already renting them out for most matches anyway) and am refusing to waste anymore time, effort and money travelling over to games unless there is significant changes to the way our club is being run

For me off the field they clearly dont give a fuck about what the fans think despite what their customer service desk may say.

A Wycombe Away kit
Massive rise in ST and membership prices

Really rubs salt into the wounds after the season that just went past. Not to mention no indicatons yet that the team will move forward , if anything backwards.

Not been in the souless spacebowl for 2 years & gave up ST so just go odd aways & drink round the ground home games. With others who mostly feel the same way I do!!!

Supporter since 1969 but won't give these *word censored* any money as they don't spend it on decent players it just goes into the club's pockets & I really object to Wenger getting 125K a week & him being now the highest paid manager worldwide after Ancellotti was sacked. Hundreds of millions bought & sold in shares, highest ticket prices & amongst the lowest spenders in the PL. Plus the matchday experience has been destroyed by the complete change in the clubs support along the way.

I no longer support the current impostors AKA The Spacebowl Cannons Franchise & I despise Wenger & most of the players. This is not Arsenal Football Club any longer

AFC Arsenal can't come to soon for me personally

I think Arsenal will sort it out in 5-10 years. Don't expect the bad times to be forever. However, some aspects of the game itself have permanently changed and no matter how hard you try to hold onto them, it's tough to deny that the game is run by money now.
For me off the field they clearly dont give a fuck about what the fans think despite what their customer service desk may say.
I think what the biggest piss off is, is that they do care what the "fans" think. Except it's the wrong fans. The bandwagon jumpers, established-1996 fans, children, tourists... It's the old guard that are getting completely disregarded. When your 125 "anniversary" kit doesn't even appeal to the people who were around for the 75 or 100 anniversaries, something is wrong.

Surely Wenger is not on that much and the highest paid manager? Higher than Ferguson?

Disgrace if true....

Wenger gets double what Ferguson gets, just do a Google search, so much for the clubs transfer budget & the club being run on a shoestring? Wenger & the clubs hiarchy are fllecing the supporters whilst making out the club is skint :banghead:

Irish I like your thinking. Maybe we could get signed up to a really low league and move our way up. Can certainly learn a lot from FCUM and AFC W'don.
