He's going to be on the bench for some considerable years.tinpot lane wrote:In what aspect? I would say it's the perfect transfer for him.Boomer wrote:Very Strange transfer....for him.
Yes, Rio is a little injury prone but he isn't going to replace him or Vidic. Then there's still Smalling.
Even Liverpool would have been a better option for him.
He's been playing midfield for Blackburn in the last part of the season. He also plays right back or CB. What he gives United is very good cover in several positions, an excellent prospect to supplement their established players. That's how a knowledgable and top quality manager does it.
Arsenal? We sign a non - regular, young league 1 defender from a struggling team. Sums Wenger and Arsenal up.
Oh, and Gibbs has withdrawn from England U-21 through injury.......same old Arsenal.....taking the piss!

Smalling featured a lot throughtout the season for them, so I can't see why he wouldn't be the same, expecially with Rio's recurring injuries. A couple successful seasons could see him being first choice cb for the next decade.Boomer wrote:He's going to be on the bench for some considerable years.tinpot lane wrote:In what aspect? This is what I'm saying....he's going to be 4th choice centre back.tinpot lane wrote:Smalling featured a lot throughtout the season for them, so I can't see why he wouldn't be the same, expecially with Rio's recurring injuries.
