FORUM OFFLINE FOR 24 HOURS STARTING LATE SATURDAY

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

FORUM OFFLINE FOR 24 HOURS STARTING LATE SATURDAY

Post by gooner.ed »

ok regulars - bit of advance warning for you. due to recent problems where we've been going offline without warning in recent weeks, we have made a few significant changes in our operation. the final part of this process - which seems to have increased our reliability - means taking the site offline for approx 24 hours.

as there are no arsenal matches this weekend, and this needs to be done sooner rather than later, we are planning to go offline at approx 10pm this evening (Saturday). all being well, we should be back with you by the time you wake up on monday morning.

as this is a planned piece of downtime (unlike previously), we hope you will understand and bear with us. it should mean the forum is a lot more reliable and suffers almost no offline time once this has been done.

also applies to the main part of the site too. thanks for your patience.

i'd like to keep this thread near the top of the pile, so to ensure some replies, a piece of advice is sought from you good people. i am thinking of putting a bet on a russia win in israel at the bookies. how much do you think i would be justified in risking? will it be a stitch up or can russia win on merit?

agree about the emoticons. i will have a word with the webmaster. assume it is quite simple to load new ones? is there a good site where you can get them from (without opening yourself up to loads of spam emails?)

anyhow - off(line) to work on the next issue of the gooner now. will check for suggestions on my gambling stake after lunch! :?

How about a 5-0 to Israel? Bet there's good odds on that one. Well as an Englishman I spose I can always live in hope
Agree about the emoticons, they've got some great ones on The Herd website, some quite un pc ones as well so I spose they might not all fit in on this site  but I'd really like the old boy shaking his walking stick one on here, I could make some use of that now and then I think

This site??

http://bestsmileys.com/

It's green on Macafee site advisor so that's good!

As for the site being down, that will surely mean the quality of threads will be superb on Monday :D

I don't think the one they use to denote sp**rs fans would go down all that well in some quarters  Altho, come to think of it, once all the offensive ones are removed that'd only leave about 6

What is bumping threads? I've seen the expression used but don't know what it means.

I hope it's not rhyming slang

I wouldn't worry too much about people missing the forum - most of them "play the field" anyway and will just pop round to one of their other mistresses for a bit of fun. 8)

Reminds me of a great Eddie Murphy stand up gag. After his missus caught him f*cking a bit of strange he got all Bolshie & more-sinned-against-than-sinning, and replied with;

"Yeah! Yeah, I f*cked that bitch! Yeah - that's right! Yeah I f*cked her. I f*cked that bitch!

...but I make love to you."

Very good, but not to be relied upon methinks  8)

By the way - I knew you would be monogamous, board-wise DB10. It's those Cork boys that stray
