Wigan on Saturday

Post by Chippy »

In all the excitement   of last night we seem to have forgotten Saturday's game. My son is predicting 4-1.

Any thoughts on the midfield wthout Cesc and the Flanimal?

Diarra for Flamini and then either Denilson or Diaby for Cesc.

Should be the easiest game we've played since Derby..Dont get me wrong theres no guaranteed wins but this is a team in crisis, no backbone, and conceding goals for fun..

3-0 to The Arsenal

Almunia
Sagna
Toure
Gallas
Clichy
Hleb
Rosicky
Denilson
Diarra
Adebayor
Eduardo

should do the job.

Would you not play RvP? In theory, it's going to be one of our 'easy' games - it could be a good time to ease him back in to the pace of the league.

Either way, I would advise against taking Wigan for granted. They've got a new manager and we all know how that can sometimes galvanise a team. I don't do predictions, but this is a game that we should win pretty comfortably; even without Cesc and possibly the Flanimal and RvP.

^^ I'd like VP on the bench..20-30 mins late on and give Ade a rest in the process...
To be honest until I hear something official from the club I'll assume he wont even be back in the squad, takes more than a source-less Mirror article to convince me he's actually fit and training.

Arsenal.com wrote:Robin van Persie has suffered a knee injury while away with Holland. Early indications show the striker faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines. "After the Reading game [on November 12] there is an international break of two weeks," said Wenger on November 1. "He should be back following that."
I'm guessing that "back" means in the squad. But you're right. If there's one thing I've learned with Arsenal under Wenger is that you should always wait to hear something official before passing comment!

Agree with that save Ade out, RvP in and (not that it's going to happen) Almunia out and Jens in.

5-0.

arsenal.com no wsays "Five midfielders will be absent and Robin van Persie is also not yet ready for his return to action" but the link to the article isn't working at the moment.

Three of the five are Cesc, Diaby and Flamini but who are the other two?? Perhaps Gilberto for being knackered, but another one?

And no RvP after all.

Bloody hell, could be more interesting this w/e than we hoped.

Fuck it; you know what? I'll be there. I won't be wearing any Arsenal colours, so we can't lose! So I will make a prediction;

3-1 Arse.
