Eboue gone!!!

Post by dudbux »

He's off! Galatasry have said he's agreed terms.

Whilst I'm glad he's gone. Let's face facts. He loved our club. Gave his all. Albeit he didn't have much.

He wasn't the best but adios eboue!! :barscarf:

Ps how long before he's on the outside of the emirates as a legend!! ;)

He wont get much abuse from me, but I was always in the middle with him.

- Some fans hated his guts
- Others wore I love Eboue t- shirts

I was neither. I liked him as a bloke, he gave his all, but at the end of the day mistakes like the pen vs Liverpool and sending off at WHL were costly moments.

He did win the free in the CL final, dive or not, I was glad.

All in all like Clichy, I think good bloke, too many brain farts, loved the Arsenal but didnt have that winning mentality we needed.

Seemed like a decent bloke who was loved in the dressing room but on the pitch he made my blood boil at times. Too often Wenger put him at RM and he was like a rabbit in the headlights :banghead: Ill have to retir my Eboue jersey now

Nothing official announced yet by Arsenal.

A reasonably fast, physically tough player who nonetheless fell over many times during games.

Little evidence of skill or positional sense.

Joker in the dressing room.

In all honesty was not really good enough to have even been a squad player.

100% sure? Source!

Have found nothing definitive yet. Would be the cherry on the cake for me tonight.

Since that dive for the free kick in Paris I have hated him, because of what he made me go through after that. Having to try and justify to myself that an Arsenal player dived and that act could have won us the trophy I want more than anything, and that we as a Club need more than anything.

Sickening. And I kept up the pretence that I didn't care for a long time, lying to myself. And that hurt me.

After a while I was honest to myself and found that this was the most sickening act I have seen an Arsenal player make, because of the importance of the occasion.

Cheating? I hate it!

And I hate Eboue for that.

Eboue, a message to you...from the heart...

i think he made some good runs at times and had decent pace and strength. however i don't think he was ever a good defender and his ability to lose concentration and absolutely fuck up a match was way too much for me.

so much that we replaced our second choice right back for a kid from league 1 and i'm not bothered a bit...

I think thats the nail on head.

The fact he is being replaced by an unknown from the 3rd division who has no experience, and its not really an issue says it all about Eboues time here in the last few years.

Babu - For me the cheating never bothered me, only when it became embarrassing. I'm a win at all costs guy, unlike Wenger, and if it can give an advantage once in a while its not bad. Thats another debate.

And I also agree about the time Wenger played him on the wing for 2 years, I can honestly say at that time he was the worst player I ever seen on the wing for us.

To put it in perspective, the bloke cant defend and is crap in the final third, he will not be missed on the field.

Although more experience out the door with Clichy and maybe Fabregas our longest serving players.

Now when will Alshite the spanish clown leve the building..... :banghead: 8)

50/50 on this one.

EE27 was versatile, but not at a top-tier skill level. He had a big heart, but also dove to an embarrassing degree (and often in an embarrassing manner). However, I'm sure he was well loved in the dressing room and I think he was always grateful to play at the Arsenal.

He gained a lot of respect for me after cleaning up his act after his ridiculous sending off against Sp*rs a couple seasons ago. It's not easy to keep going when the entire crowd hates you, but he did well to win people back - myself included.

So I wish him the best in the future, thank him for his time at the club, and will probably not miss him.

+1

Not really good enough to play for Arsenal but like you say it must have taken a lot to come back from being practically destroyed by arsenal fans when wenger had to sub him again and he gained a lot of respect for that.

Never good enough as a footballer but he had more heart and passion for arsenal than most of those players.

He cared about Arsenal but I'll never forget that dive, and the pen against 'pool was the angriest I've ever been after a game. Fucking brainless *word censored*, good riddance.

I echo what most people have said so far.

I have no quarrel with eboue, i never got the impression he wasn't trying his hardest or was taking his position for granted. Thats all that can be asked of him.

I dont like the diving but then bobby pires dived. I think the thing that should be noted about eboue is that he was a particularly bad diver, plenty are just as guilty as him but few make it quite so obvious.

Good luck Emmanuel. :barscarf:
