Top 4 is acceptable - Wenger
[quote]Arsene Wenger believes that a top four finish for Arsenal will represent an ‘acceptable’ campaign as the Gunners gear up for their first Premier League game of the season.
Without a trophy since 2005, the Frenchman is under extreme pressure from fans to end the trophy drought at the Emirates as soon as possible. Nevertheless, despite making clear that the ultimate aim is to win either the Champions League or Premier League, he appears happy enough to play down expectations by defining success in broader terms.
In an interview filmed ahead of the Emirates Cup for Barclays Premier League World and screened for the first time this evening on ESPN, Wenger was quizzed on what he felt would be a successful season for his young squad.
“I basically think if we win the Premier League or Champions League that will be a huge success, if we finish in the top three or four it will be acceptable, anything outside of the top four will be a bad season.â€

I saw a t-shirt on the way out of Estadio da Luz on Saturday which reminded me of Wenger's comments during last season where he stated he'd be happy to finish second for the next twenty years; "Second place is for losers". Thought it summed things up nice & succintly.
It should also be noted that this is a 100% genuine shirt available from a spurs fan site;

There we have it, AW would be happy with a level of success that makes the pond life from N17 jizz their pants...

Running out of things to say nowadays. We should have a clock on the homepage counting down till the 31 Aug, deadline day for our 'brilliant' manager to realise that in football you need a defence as well as an attack, a defence with proven quality to back up what you have upfront.
Just so sick of the continuing bollocks and bullshit being fed to us.

We;re looking at 6th or 7th this season imo.
Everyone bangs on about this club and that club aren't good enough to finish above us, but we are that BAD to finish 6th or 7th. We are capable of winning just 3 games out of 15, as we have already proven. The only consolation is that it will be Wenger's final season.
