Can he embarrass himself any further??

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Can he embarrass himself any further??

Post by Trevheff »

Someone at the club please stop Arsene from talking anymore. As if it was bad enough him saying a couple of weeks back that we couldn't be considered ambitous if we sold Cesc and Nasri, to come out today with 'I expect no one to leave the club' is beyond belief. (Were Nasri and Cesc walking behind him with suitcases in hand just to add to the comedy of his comment??).

Whether it's pressure, age or a secret drug habit, the guy is clearly deluded, losing the plot, not only making irration decisions but coming out with unfathomable comments. He is starting to damage (yet further) the credibility of the club everytime he speaks. The guy is not fit for office.

Assuming we're good enough to avoid relegation, the biggest disaster this year will be if we finish 4th. 4th will no doubt again be a long way off the pace but be sufficient once again to passify the Board. If we are not to seriously challenge then something drastic has to happen by way of on pitch failure to force change at the club. Maybe some good would come of being dumped out by Udinese? Trust me I take no pleasure is saying this or thinking this way, none at all.

I understand people saying that for everything he has done for the club Arsene doesn't deserve to ever be sacked and has earned our loyalty. But I dare say I've been an Arsenal fan alot longer than Arsene, attended matches regularly long before he ever set foot near the club and for that reason, I and my fellow suffering Gooners don't deserve to feel this dismayed and devastaed at the direction he's led our club in.

Just when I thought things couldn't get worse at the club, events since May have proved me very wrong. It's sad sad times and for the first time in my life I'm dreading the new season starting.

Just look at the Arsen Wenger's quote thread mate - there's plenty more ammunition where that came from

The new one about there "being two markets" is priceless......when I read it I actually laughed so loudly that a little bit of pee came out

I tell you something, I would actually buy it. One of the funniest recordings I own is the old "Do I Not Like That" Graham Taylor video. When you've had a few pints and the lads are over some of the quotes on that have you rolling around...

I actually think I might contact a media organisation to release "Arseneballs" the DVD this Christmas, a sort of countdown top 40 of the greatest post match babble you've ever heard.....just what you need to cheer you up when the turkey's been finished and the Great Escape is on ITV for the 50th year running :D

Another stupid Wenger comment: "We are all replaceable. All the cemeteries are full of replaceable people."

Well, I think the last time it happened I was 5; but the "special circumstances" and "Carl can play there too" comments unfortunately strained the bladder to the point that the next quote would be fatal and so it proved

I daren't print it one more time or I'll need to nip out for some pads...

Oh, erm I've heard about those sort of DVDs, erm a 'mate' of mine told me about them, not that I've ever watched that sort of thing you'll understand........

(ps They must drink fucking gallons of water before filming...I can understand a few fetishes but that? Nah, swerve it I think...ooops there we go again, another thread going off at a tangent!!)

It's just sad. Wenger used to be so credible and respected, and with good reason. He was an astute manager who took the league by surprise and put Arsenal on the top of it.

Now things are just getting comical, and I do not like the fact that it invites some very negative comments about the man personally, saying he's "geriatric", "deluded", "senile"... I don't think it's respectful to insult or judge someone due their age.

However, AW continues to make nonsensical statements that border on crazy and you don't have much choice but to wonder "wtf, why would you possibly say that?" It was easy to defend "I don't know, I didn't see it" - sticking up for players is one thing - but when you say "No one is leaving" in the midst of Cesc leaving, and "We have Vermaelen as a new signing" it's like... well, wtf?

I don't see why calling him deluded reflects on his age, I call my mates deluded when they believe his bullshit, he refuses to see the truth, and lives on in his bubble, not accepting the reality of the outside world.

I'm not sure it's him being a stubborn *word censored* anymore, imo the man is mentally ill. I'm 100% certain of it. He is not well.
