Where will we end up this season

Post by Chippy »

What's the consensus on where we'll end up this season. I reckon 5th -7th. Please don't turn this thread into another hate Wenger/nasri/Cesc one. there are millions of those.

Thought it might interesting to see just how pessimistic we all are.

5th.

Although, I think if we want Wenger gone we need to finish 4th. Finishing lower than that gives the board the chance to trot out the "Arsene is the best man to guide us back into the CL" line, whilst finishing 3rd or higher will be heralded as "progress".

There can be no excuse for not giving him the boot if we suffer another identikit fourth placed groundhog season...

I tip us to finish 6th.I have no confidence what so ever of finishing anywhere near the top 4.The scum and victim fc to finish above us.Im normally an optimist but dreading this season but in a perverse way cant wait to watch us this evening.

6th or 7th at best. The last third of last season showed what is coming. Our delicate little babies will fall apart after an awful start. From there you will start to hear Wenger coming out with his most bizarre and pathetic excuses yet!

5th - 7th, I just cant see anything above that unless by a miracle 'oh mad one' goes and buys what is needed. I will wait for the mad ones excuses after every game and die a little more inside.

6th or 7th, unless the mad one buys a couple of centre backs, a holding midfield player and spends the money on adequate replacements for fabregas and the *word censored* nasri but as the mad one won't do anything of the sort  then we're fucked :(

5th.

We are playing for 4th place with Liverpool and the Spuds.Liverpool got rid of Torres and spent the £50m straight away. That was a statement of intent.,Compare that to us.I think Liverpool will finish 4th as they have no european distractions

Drunken arse!

I say 6th and that is a genuine prediction given the squad as it stands.

6th or 7th I think, as long as we're not in the Europa league for a 2nd successive season....

I think a poll like this is only really of use when the transfer window shuts tbh. If you lose Nasri and Fabregas and don't bring anyone in then I reckon you'll end up in a too close to call battle for 5th with Spurs and could end up just losing out to them and ending up in 6th. If you lose them but bring in a couple of good players (a solid centre back and a good midfielder/ striker) then I think you'll be challenging Liverpool for the 4th spot- Liverpool are getting a lot of praise at the minute but you can definitely finish ahead of them if a couple of people are brought in, I think Liverpool might flatter to deceive a bit this season

no higher than 4th - Man U, Man C and Chelsea will dominate the top 3 spots and we will fight out 4th with Liverpool

spurs will be 6th with Everton 7th

No matter what anyone says, about the fact that the rest of the Premiership are supposedly catching up, frankly that's bollocks.

When I looked at Bolton, Stoke and Fulham competing for top half places last year it just confirmed to me what a poor quality league it really is below the top 6.

Despite the GIC's best efforts I'd be amazed if we finished outside the top six, but I'd also be equally amazed if we finished inside the top 3. The PL really is becoming that predictable now.

Can anyone see anything other than United, City and Chavs for the top 3 (god knows in what order, but suspect United champions again), and ourselves, Mickeys and Spuds (4th to 6th in some particular order).

The Mickeys have improved but expecting Suarez and Carroll to complete 50 games each is unrealistic and they have very low depth in quality up front. The Spuds haven't really strengthened although Diarra will be an infinitely better bet than the two little fat ducks (Huddlestone and Palacios) if they manage to do that deal.

The top 3 get stronger, the next 3 will compete for 4th......the rest nowhere.

Zzzzzzzzz.......how exciting
