World Cup Draw

Post by RaM »

Now I know the contempt some of you show towards internationals, but the draw is on monday morning my time...discussion?

The pots are:

Pot One :- Italy, Spain, Germany, Czech Republic, France, Portugal, Netherlands, Croatia, Greece.

In Pot Two will be:- England, Romania, Scotland, Turkey, Bulgaria, Russia, Poland, Sweden, Israel.

Pot Three will contain the following Nations:- Norway, Ukraine, Serbia, Denmark, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, Finland, Switzerland, Belgium.

In Pot Four will be:- Slovakia, Bosnia, Hungary, Moldova, Wales, Macedonia, Belarus, Lithuania, Cyprus.

In Pot Five: Georgia, Albania, Slovenia, Latvia, Iceland, Armenia, Austria, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan.

In Pot Six: :Liechtenstein, Estonia, Malta, Luxembourg, Montenegro, Andorra, Faroe Islands, San Marino.

Interestingly, one group could consist of: England or Scotland, Ireland or Northern Ireland, and Wales. Hmmm...

I hope Russia gets an easy group:

Greece
Russia
Northern Ireland
Cyprus
Azerbaijan
Andorra

I'd want to see England's new manager to face tough teams so he we see what he is made of:

Germany
England
Serbia
Bosnia
Georgia
Montenegro

If England's new boss can truly make England good, then this group shouldn't be too hard for him; but if it is another McClaren, England will struggle.

Why don't you just stick Croatia in England's group instead of Germany and then they will be so distracted by local derbys that England will sail through

Why is there such a big fuss - aren't the South American playing WC matches already?

Just an excuse for FA fat cats and their European equivalents to go on a 3 day jolly.

If I put in Slovenia instead of Georgia; England's qualification will be even easier

And Khalid, before you get too cocky, do you really think Russia can get past Germany? They might well struggle against Finland.

And as for next year, I reckon Russia may have saved England's blushes for being the weakest side in Euro 2008!
