Hazard..........

Post by Steviegooner »

Reports are suggesting that an agreement has been reached between Arsenal and Lille for Eden hazard to join Arsenal for 23 million pounds subject to Arsenal beating Udinese and reaching the group stages of the champions league. Now I know Hazard looks to be a quality player however he is only 20 years old. It seems that Arsene does not mind spending money on youth but will not when it comes to experience, anyway what's the thoughts on this......

If it's true, then great. We need exciting match winners, as this team is boring and predictable as fuck at the moment.

Of course, we also need a left back, a striker, a centre midfielder (or 2), and a centre back.

Still, plenty of time before the transfer window closes, so no rush Arsene

subject to Arsenal beating Udinese and reaching the group stages of the champions league.
He will therefore join Chelsea for 25m.

 It amazes me there are still gooners expecting Wenger to buy  Hasn't the last 6yrs of transfer windows taught you anything  Wenger would rather walk on burning coals than actually admit by buying world class players his experiment had failed... £23 million

If its true then its a good thing, he looks an exciting prospect and would be an ideal replacement for Nasri in terms of quality.

Thing that worries me is if it is dependant on beating Udinese.

We have 'agreed' terms on dozen of player already. I wonder if this will be any different
Cant remember how many CB we 'agreed' terms with only to end up with Kolscheny and Squallaici.

'Dependent on beating Udinese' it would be more likely we would splash some cash if we lose to Udinese...If we go through, the CL money is already in the bank, the job is done and he'll make do with what he has or with the bear minimum brought in, that is what he always does, that is the whole problem 'making do' instead of getting ambitious...
If Udinese put us out, Kroenke will be so worried about missing a top four finish this season and possible terminal decline he will force him to buy some quality whether he wants to or not...

If Hazard is even on the radar for us (which i'm sceptical about) Wenger wouldn't just decide on buying him or not a week before the end of the window... he'd need months to haggle the fee and if he didn't get him for the valuation he put on him he wouldn't bother, regardless of how desperate we were or what competitions we were in...

Can't be true......our glorious leader needs 1/2 months to negotiate a transfer.

He'll just be another mercenary c*nt. May play well for a couple of seasons then jump ship as soon are Real Madrid or Barcawhores come knocking.

I've got mixed feelings about him coming over.

Then again, I doubt Arsene is actually gonna buy him anyway so all this talk is useless.

Absolutely agree with this - what will happen should we fail to qualify on wed night ? It is all well and good some saying that failure to qualify might be the kick up the arse that wenger and the board need to go out and buy quality but surely the missing champs lge income might affect that ? If our transfer budget has been dependent on qualifying on wed nite then somebody should be shot - we all knew when the fixture list came out that we have a very tough start to the season and we needed to hit the ground running but if we have been waiting on the outcome of this game to dictate our recruitment policy then for me it is basically a big two fingers up at our hopes for league success. To risk losing 9 points in our opening 3 fixtures especially given that 2 of the games are versus our rivals (mainly the scousers) is absolutely criminal imo and leads me to wonder what will happen should we get knocked out on wed night :worried:
