Sunderland Game and Charlie x2

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Sunderland Game and Charlie x2

Post by Chippy »

I'm going on a bit of a ticket strike this season and don't want to buy tix for this game unless there is a non- footy reason. IE Loads of Paddys coming over or a tribute to Charlie x2 that was talked about.

So what's happening?

The plan was to meet for Charliex2 before Sunderland but Arsenal couldn't even put his stone down in time (I think) so I'm not sure what's happening there. A few Sunderland lads are supposed to be coming down for a rematch of that game last season though so there may be a few of the paddys there.

Is the OnlineGooner vs Sunderland game still going on before the match?

From talking to percy there was a big delay in ordering the stone so no hope of it being laid in time for mackems game :( I believe that the Gooner FC game is still going ahead (though havent heard anything since initial plans) so I intend going over but can only speak for myself on that. I dont know if there are any other plans for that day to pay tribute to charlie x2 now that the stone wont be done in time but if lads have planned on going over it might be good to do something ??

I will be there with Mutley for a drink but I won't be paying to go inside the ground to see the game.

Unfortunately I shall be in Dubrovnik that week for a conference. I won't be getting back into Gatwick until 4pm so won't be able to get back in time.
I'll raise a glass in Steve's honour on the aeroplane
