For one, Walcott is a crock. He's delicate and easily injured. Henry was a beast.
The major thing about playing Walcott up front as a 9 is that he cannot hold up the ball, he lacks the strength to do so.
Every major PL striker of the last ten years has the ability to hold it: Shearer, Henry, Bergkamp, Rooney, Van Nistelrooy, Drogba, Torres, every single one of them can hold the ball.
If you look at Kun Aguero he is also remarkably strong in the upper body. Therefore Arsenal desperately need a 9 who can hold it up but crucially, who attacks the ball in the area. RVP is quality but it's clear as day he is sick to the back teeth of Wenger (see interview last night and see his comments on VDV).
Therefore who do you think would be ideal?
Personally, I have always said the perfect striker for Arsenal is Karim Benzema. He has the lot, pace, power and finishing. Lukaku would have been a very good option but as usual, we missed out.
Another striker who is 100% gettable is Higuain of Real Madrid. He's fallen out with Mourinho and Perez wants to sell him. Great strength, and cares about scoring goals.
Honestly think the striker and creative midfielder are possibly the most important areas Arsenal need to address. *Defending? What's that? Koscielny is as good as Baresi!*
