Nicklas Bendtner
Bendtner had a good game yesterday. He assisted Rosicky`s goal, and he was involved in the first goal. Yet I`m not sure if he can be a player for the future. Any thoughts???

It's a nice thought bue We'd be very lifgtweight. Bendtner did great deserve to start upfront on tue in my opinion.donaldo wrote:He always looks good when he comes on for 15-20 mins. But the jury is still out on whether he can do it week in and out for 90 mins.Impressed with Theo upfront again who like to see him and RVP start upfront together as Ade is still too hit and miss

Bendtner is quality and was exactly what was required yesterday. Everyone round where i sit were calling for him from about 15mins into the second half. He has pace, power, can head the ball and do what Ade seemed unable to do yesterday - hold the ball up. Oh and he can shoot as well.donaldo wrote:He always looks good when he comes on for 15-20 mins. But the jury is still out on whether he can do it week in and out for 90 mins.Impressed with Theo upfront again who like to see him and RVP start upfront together as Ade is still too hit and miss
I don't see how the jury can be out as he's not had any real opportunity in the first team, when he's come on he's looked good. For the final 10 minutes at West Ham he changed the game, just as they were putting on pressure, by getting physical (cue song)
I agree that Theo looked really good and seems to have developed some self-belief and the balls to not just run at players, but do something with it when he's past them. Can't wait for RVP to get back though.
One slight concern for me before yesterday was Eduardo. From what I had seen previously he was slow and lightweight. But he played well against Wigan and he also seems to have developed some confidence.
One downside to the game though was Diarra. Much has been said about how good he was, but he gave the ball away (although to be fair did always try to ammend his mistake), didn't play well with Denilson and I wasn't impressed at all. But I guess its a bit unfair to judge him on one performance - that we won!

I think he's a player for the present..Gooners444 wrote:Bendtner had a good game yesterday. He assisted Rosicky`s goal, and he was involved in the first goal. Yet I`m not sure if he can be a player for the future. Any thoughts???
IMO he was very unlucky not to get a run of games while Adebayor wasn't scoring and looks dangerous every time he plays...also scoring on international duty will do him no harm, not that he needs the confidence

I'd expect to see him start on Tuesday
Re: Nicklas Bendtner
I think he looks like he's got alot of talent. But I have a problem with the idea he should have got games when Adebayor wasn't scoring. How far into a non-scoring run do you drop your striker? Do you take into account his general play? And what if the other main striker is injured in the meantime?EdgeOfTown wrote:I think he's a player for the present..Gooners444 wrote:Bendtner had a good game yesterday. Would be a perfect world if you could drop your goalkeeper just before he dropped clangers, dropped a central midfielder just before form dipped and dropped your striker juts after he scored, knowing he wasn't going to score for another seven games.
Still, Adebayor was pretty poor yesterday

I just think to freshen things up more than anything..
not in a "he didnt score drop him" kind of way, but even though they're similar players, they offer something different in the way we play and maybe we could have still used Adebayor as an impact player..
Dont get me wrong, I respect his work rate and his link up play, but he's not indespensible..
