Are England Tottenham in disguise? (29/11)

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

usual thread starter… Made me chuckle. On a serious note, does anyone think Ramos can actually improve on Martin Jol? Let’s face it. Two fifth place finishes are about as much as they could hope for. Does anyone believe Ramos can get them into the top four? I suspect we might see a mass clearout of players at the Lane next summer.

Ramos has had a lot of teams in his career so don't expect him to stick around for a long time in Spurs, especially if a top job like Barca, Real or Chelsea is offered to him. Teams managed by him:

1993–1994 Alcoyano
1994–1995 Levante
1995–1996 Logroñés
1996–1997 Barcelona B
1997–1998 Lleida
1998–2001 Rayo Vallecano
2001–2002 Betis
2002 Espanyol
2003–2004 Málaga
2005–2007 Sevilla
2007– Tottenham Hotspur

The only team he had success at was Sevilla; he won 2 UEFA Cups, 1 UEFA Super Cup, 1 Supercopa (Spanish Charity Shield) and 1 Copa del Rey (Spanish FA Cup). Joaquín Caparrós got the club from the 1st Divisiona and made them an established side in La Liga. The club also has a brilliant academy with the likes of Diego Capel, Jesús Navas, Antonio Puerta, Sergio Ramos, Carlos Marchena and our ex-player Reyes.

In conclusion, Spurs need a massive clear-out and some good old foreigners

Spurs conceded after just 2 minutes

You missed out the over-riding similarity which reall cost England that place in Euro 2008 - both teams have Paul Robinson in goal! (apart from v Croatia)
