world player of the year

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

he was one of manures best players and they won the league
only scholes or vidic was at his level
and that was a seriously high level
he is also one of the most entertaining players to watch in europe
I'd agree with the list
1- kaka 2- messi 3- ronaldo

Kaka will win cos Milan won the CL. But this season he has been poor.He hasn"t been a patch on Cesc this season. But you have to win a World cup or the CL to win Player of the year, thats why Henry never won it even though he was the worlds best player in 2002 and 2004

I still haven't come to terms with Alan Sunderland not getting the award.

Ah, I thought that must have been it, what with all this I've been hearing about £100million transfer fees!

Good one TS

I'm outraged that almunia is mentioned nowhere  Surely after keeping all those sheets in champs lge and being the main reason we sit at top of prem would have him regarded as one of the worlds best ?? What do you mean he is only 6th best spanish keeper

PS Please dont start mentioning ade for world player of the year - Gus
will be on later and he'll think we've all lost the plot

Ps 2 (not the playstation) Kaka is by far and away the best player in world
in the last 12 months bar none 8)

I THINK THE LIST IS PRETTY MUCH SPOT ON.

KAKA WON THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE WITH AC MILAN; MESSI HAS BEEN FLYING SINCE RETURING FROM INJURY A FEW MONTHS BACK; RONALDO SCORED 20 GOALS FOR MAN UNITED AND PLENTY FOR HIS COUNTRY, AND WAS VERY INFLUENTIAL IN PORTUGAL'S QUALIFICATION FOR EURO 2008.

IF PAST EXPERIENCE IS ANYTHING TO GO BY, KAKA WILL END UP WINNING IT BECAUSE OF THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE SUCCESS AND THE FACT THERE WAS NO MAJOR INTERNATIONAL TOURNAMENT THIS PAST SUMMER.

Always a bit more accurate when it's not a WC or Europan Championship year as when it is they only pick the best player of the tournament.

If win a major trophy this season and Fabregas plays like he has been playing, he’ll be nominated for the next year's shortlist. I think Kaka will win it because he was the best player in the Champions League.

Why isnt Fabregas up there lads.He just has the right to be up there with the likes of Kaka and Ronaldo. But realisticly i would give it to Kaka he is just a world class player.P.S Kaka is also an Arsenal Fan :D
