Arshavin's "shhhhh" celebration

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Arshavin's "shhhhh" celebration

Post by Gooner Gus »

Am I right in thinking he does the "shhh" because before he came to Arsenal he got alot of stick about his ability? Sure I heard that somewere.

I thought it was to tell everyone not to wake up Hill-Wood as he still likes his afternoon naps even during a game

I'm developing a loathing for the fat Russian and the 'shhh' makes me want punch his face in. What's it all about? He needs to develop an 'about f***ing time I did something to justify my enormous salary' celebration although I'd prefer the one-handed wave as he gets on the plane back to
Russia. Surely that mad billionaire who's put Roberto Carlos and Eto on a zillion a week will take him off our hands.

I've never liked the 'shhh' even when TH did it. It's like telling us to calm down 'it's only a goal for Arsenal'. Bring back Wrighty. I want to see joy and excitement in a celebration not a hand signal from a librarian.

I actually enjoyed Keane's comment about taking him off after 10 minutes last night. If we had players like him, Keown or Tony Adams around Arshavin would either have left or been a better player for us...
