Boxing Tonight...

Post by northbankbren »

BOYCOTT THE BASEMENT......LETS TALK ABOUT IT UP HERE :barscarf:

After a good result today, enjoy tonight with some great boxing.

George Groves returns to action against Paul Smith. And the main event is Ricky Burns vs Michael Katsidis. Both fights should be all action affairs. Smith is a threat for Groves, but if George sticks to his game plan he should outbox and outspeed Smith. Smith needs to make it a brawl. Think Groves has enough for late stoppage.

Burns has moved up in weight to fight Katsidis, which is a big ask, katsidis is a all action powerhouse, who will look for the ko from the start again Burns needs to be at his defensive best. I actually think that Katsidis's power will be too much for Burns, but he is undefeated so you never know. I'll go for Katsidis by stoppage in the middle rounds...if Burns win it'll be on points.

All the action on Boxnation sky channel 456 or watch live here....

Come on mods leave it upstairs for tonight at least. Please.

Fine night of boxing ahead, think Groves will win by a mid to late rounds stoppage, even though Katsidis has taken a couple of big recent losses at the top level, I still think that he has too much for Burns and will stop him around 6 or 7. Both fights though should be very good, but Groves really should've got the Euro shot that DeGale had rather than having to face his leftovers, but that's Frank Warren for you

To be honest that boxing line-up doesn't particularly excite me so I probably won't be watching.

In all honesty hleb do try and watch the Burns/Katsidis fight. It has the making of a great fight. Burns undefeated and Katsidis is an absolute animal. Could be a rite tear up.

Wrong about Burns he was brilliant and outboxed katsidis. Groves, amazing didnt think he could generate that power, again quality.

Missed the fights, credit to Burns for biggest win of his career, and to Groves for dealing with a hard punching opponent the best way...and early KO.
