As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
usual thread starter… There are some that believe Newcastle are trying to play football under Allardyce. But surely the sight of Arsenal will change all that. I expect some early challenges. One positive aspect is that some of those who fill in tonight did beat the Geordies in the Carling Cup game, so they know they can do the job. Let’s just hope that the referee is not a homer. Any opinions on Mike Dean? or what kind of game we are likely to see. Think I read somewhere that Flamini is out as well. Or is my mind getting muddled?
the only potential problem with this lies in the Telegraph (i think) report earlier this year. Do you all remember the stats on fouls commited to bookings ratio? We only need to commit 3 fouls for a booking whereas other teams generally need to commit 7. Could be bad news too in that respect.
By the way, I'm finally past 100 posts
I was hoping to catch up with Rebel but I don't think I can talk that much shit in one lifetime:lol:

MUST SAY THAT DESPITE MY DOUBTS PRE-MATCH, I FELT THE REF HAD A GOOD GAME - APART FROM BOTTLING THE DECISION IN THE LAST MINUTE TO AWARD A FOUL AGAINST TAYLOR.

that is actuly the poor decision i am on about, i know its only 1 but ade was thru on goal and if the best come to the best we would have scored and won the game.
There's been quite a few instances of refs bottling the big decision lately. Not only in our games. On 5live last night the commentator said " it would be a brave ref that gave that decision in front of these fans" or something to that effect. Would it? Or would it be a capable ref that applied the laws regardless of what the crowd thought? I mean, we're not in Columbia here! I'm sure Dean would have made it to his car without being shot.
Actually, thinking about it, the name DEAN and variants of the theme are really pissing me off lately. David, You know who you are
Mike Dean did well, some of the calls late on were wrong but for 85 minutes, he kept control and was also willing to book a player for something after letting advantage be played which seems rare.
One of his "friends" looks familiar - I'd like to find out if it really is her...
i did a google image search on 'sam allardyce' and it popped up somewhere. could not find it today, but do a google image search on 'sam allardyce tigers' and it should show up first two images. grabbed it from there.
