Christmas Top 5
As promised earlier, here are mine,(and the reasons why).
First of all I must say that my list does not include any Carols as we all love them, and therefore they are automatically the the best Christmas songs!!!
Also I am not including any songs from what is the BEST and COOLEST Christmas album ever as they should be heard as an entire album.(preferably on Christmas Eve with your "significant other").
That album is of course:-
A Chritmas Gift For You,from Phil Spector.....The coolest Christmas album ever!!!
Here we go then.....
5: Christmas Time,(Don't let the Bells End), The Darkness
I love the "homage" to the 70's Christmas singles,(and I bet KingJayson got the "Bells End" reference).
4: Fairytale of New York,Kirsty McColl and The Pogues.
We have all been in one of "those" relationships! In my case it was in Brighton with a French bird called Nadia.Let's just say that the rows were just as tempestuious as the love making!!!
3: A Winter's Tale, David Essex.
A great Christmas song, and my kareoke Christmas "party piece"!!!
2: I wish it could be Christmas everyday,Wizzard.
The best Christmas song from my childhood,Council house, coal fire,Action Man,Crossfire,Top of the Pops Christmas Special,Chopper Bike,Charlie George!!!
1: The Power of Love,Frankie Goes To Hollywood.
Reminds me a previous girlfriend. We were living in London at the time, both at university. It was about the 20th of December, and we went to see "The Jungle Book",and Mickey Mouses' a Christmas Carol",at The Odeon,Leicester Square. After the films,we came out onto the square as snow was falling, and from one of the adjaceant nightclubs this song was drifting on the snowflakes!!!
