blame game v boro

Post by REB »

wengers said its because its our 5th away match on the trot,,

i didnt see the game but the genral feeling is to many players below par,,
are they tired :?:
3 home games to come so lets hope for a more spirited response

im trying to be optimistic here which is hard for me but we were going to lose at some stage and maybe defeat will be a kick up the arse for certain players and the manager

A few seemed tired. Clichy, Toure, Gilberto etc

But that was always going to happen, we haven't got a big squad, have we?

No fear of wenger saying that we lost because we were shit
I mean lets face it he didnt come out and say that we were top of the league because we had so many home games did he ? Overall I admire his loyalty to the players but as I have stated recently his loyalty sometimes goes well overboard and really gets on my tits  I'm not saying he should single players out but we were very poor v newcastle and he picked the same team today ?? Why can he not say that we didnt perform today and I have just let the players know that ? Mind you it would be nice to hear him say I fcuked up with my team selection, almunia senderos & eboue aint good enough and if I can wrangle some money out of those tightholes in the board then I will set about fixing these problems

I cannot agree with you there lads, best not to air the dirty washing in public. But three big home games ahead so maybe it will focus the minds of the players and we may even get one or two off the treatment table.

Sometimes a defeat can indeed act as a kick up the hole and maybe one or two of the players do need that after a very poor performance against boring Boro.

If results go our way next week it will paint a totally different picture, keep the faith - Arsene knows...............

I just dont think our squad is good enough..... :( it shows too mush when we have key players out. God knows why we always seem to get so many injuries and usually 3 midfielders or 3 defenders at any one time. I found today was heatbreaking.. Cant wait to see fabs bak an hleb.

You know what tho guys with our first chioce 11 out on the pitch we can beat anyone... i dont fear chelsea, pompy or man city or anyone.. ita the players we have as back up.. they are good and would get in most teams but they are so young and inexpienced or just rusty for lack ov games.

We were shit. I think the worst thing was that the players had no heart out there yesterday. No hunger.

I can accept they are tired, sure. But to just wander around looking grumpy and not arsed is NOT good enough in an Arsenal jersey.

Gilberto was a disgrace again (is he a heavy drinker? Because he looked f*cked with a hangover to me :? ) Eboue was awful. Adebayor was the worst I've ever seen him. Even Gallas and Toure were ropey. Diarra just looked pissed off to be out there.

Maybe it was just one of those "off" days, but given the way we played 2nd half at Villa and throughout the game against Toon, I think not.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, our first 11 is the dog's bollix and can beat anyone on their day, but the squad is not deep enough in quality. Surely Wenger can see this? :?

Our first eleven is a match for anyone but our squad is the weakest of the top four just look at the bench yesterday Senderos and Song say no more.

The most disappointing thing about the Boro game was the lack of heart and passion. also why did Wenger pick exactly the same team that played against Newcastle that played so poorly.

Almunia is not good enough but Wenger wont drop him.can someone explain what the fuck that clown Eboue does he was shit again.and why play two holding midfielders v Newcastle and Boro? Gilberto plays like an 80 year old.he cant pass to a team mate 5 yards away and his tackles are half an hour late.as for Eduardo is he this years Reyes and Baptista?

I said it before we need 3 new players in January if we are to continue a title challenge if not we will finish 3rd or 4th

Again I stated in summer that we were turning into a cup team like GG's last few seasons. You can win a cup competition with 13 or 14 good players but not since the 80's can you win a league with so few quality players. The blame lies squarely at wengers door unless he hasnt got the money to invest in new players

Come on guys! Keep things in perspective!

We have a reserve side that would be the envy of lesser teams like Spuds - Gilberto, Denilson, Walcott, Diarra, Fabianski, Eduardo, Bendtner etc - so I don't think the "we haven't got strength in depth" holds much water. Fact is that any team in the Premier League is capable of getting a result if the, on paper, better team are under strength. Three successive away trips was always going to be difficult - especially having lost the midfield trio who everyone has been raving about this season - Fab, Flamini and Hleb. Without one - ok. Without all three...... And even then I think we might have got away with their absence in the cozy confines of the Grove, but not in the chilly ever so slightly inhospitable North East.

My prediction is that we'll beat the Chavs & Spuds and everyone will wonder what the worry was about......
