Evening Standard tonight

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Like Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United, Wenger has earned the right to dictate the terms of his own departure and anyone who says otherwise is a fool or simply doesn't understand what he has achieved.

Jason Cowley is a fucking idiot. Shit columns like that are the reason I don't buy newspapers anymore.

And the Standard is free.

I'm sick to death of these fucking dickheads sucking Wenger's dick in their columns, for every article they write its another day they buy for the liars job and the more fuel it gives to the soulless AKBs and their deluded views :banghead:

That is quite possibly the dumbest "article" I've read in a long time. The fucking idiot knows nothing about football.

No, you gobshite, I don't. But I'll tell you a couple of things I do know;

1. Football is a results-driven business.
2. No one is entitled to a job for life based on success from over half a decade ago.
3. Intelligent people acknowledge their mistakes and attempt to rectify them.
4. No one man is EVER bigger than The Arsenal.
5. No one man's vanity project should be allowed to run unchecked.
6. A clever manager utilises tactics.
7. A clever manager does not reward repeated failure with a pay rise.
8. A clever manager does not persist with sub standard shit players long after they have been revealed as such to anyone with half a brain.
9. Every manager has a best-by date.
10. Wenger has passed his best-by date.

11. The "half a brain" reference above rules you out of that group. :D

I guess the guy is entitled to his opinion. It's wrong but I guess he's still entitled to it (even though he shouldn't be)

For Arsenal, football results are secondary and have been for several years. Wengers mandate is to turn a profit regardless and on that score he has been successful. He as failed miserably on the football front and continues to do so, only this year it will be failure in a massive way - 40m lost through non- qualification to the CL.........only one way to get that kind of money back......sell RVP.
