Going to the game today to celebrate the old man's 77th.
As some of you may know, I'm an ex-pat of a couple of years. So I don't know which establishments have come and gone. Anyone want to recommend a good place to eat pre-match? Doesn't have to be posh, just good food. Preferably Holloway Road side, and not too far as he isn't into walking long distances these days.
I used to not mind the greasy spoon by the roundabout where Bear tributes were, just can be a bit crowded. Happy to sit and eat some quality shish on a plate etc.

Out of interest, does anyone know of any old fashioned pie and mash shops in Norf London? The ones that do pie/stewed eels with mash and liquor (parsley sauce)?
There used to be a Manzi's in Camden Town near the Mother red cap but it's probably gone and one in Queen's crescent near Gospel Oak , but they are probably up market wine bars now.

Fry up was great. The throwback to the leaderless, toothless, clueless side of recent years wasn't so great.

Cook's on Hoxton Street? It's a bit more 'City' way though but you can walk it in about 5 mins from Hoxton Station on the overground.

Chapel Market just off Upper Street has a pie and mash shop.
Failing that, I'm sure one of the call girls in KX would do some naughty thing with a bit of live bait if you paid em enough.
