A confession and a hello.

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

A confession and a hello.

Post by thearse »

Hello. New user here. I have a confession to make. It might very well be because of me that the Arsenal have not won the league in such a long time. My last season as a season ticket holder was 2003–04, the year of "The Invincibles". Towards the arse end of that season, I made a rather silly comment to the bloke behind me. I said something like "I would be happy if Arsenal didn't win the league for the next ten years if we can just make it though this season without losing a game". I was caught up in the moment and I now regret what I said. Sorry.

I understand your anger and aggression towards me. You will be happy to know that I now live in Australia. Thousands of miles away, so I can't cause any more harm.

You have jinxed us.

Please perform some sort of Ozzie Voodoo ceremony and clear the jinx.
If it involves handling Rolf Harriss's digereedoo then so be it, your jinx must be removed.

In truth you probably weren't the only gooner to do something like that. Still, 10 years? why couldn't you have settled for 5? :banghead: :banghead:

Thought this would be a good time to jump in and say hello too.

I've been mooching around this place for quite a while.
I'm sure some of you will be disgusted that I have only ever been to one game involving Arsenal (about 30+ years ago, a friendly at Aldershot) So at least i'm 1 up on Red
Now the kids are growing up and money is a bit less of an issue (not much though) I keep promising myself to go to a game, so maybe next season I can be classed as a proper plastic fan...

I look for the Arsenal score first thing when the results come in, I get nervous watching them on TV, and I enjoy it when Sp*rz lose. So i'm not sure if i'm a fan, a supporter or maybe just a fraud.

Anyway, I keep coming back here because most of the time the banter is really good and some of the humour is just superb. So if you don't mind I may sign in again, I won't be much use to debate with regarding tactics but I certainly like a good p*ss take.

Welcome mate. Is your name meant to tell us something? You will get some stick on here for being a JCL but most of us welcome all to the gooner religion. Give as much stick as you get, without personal abuse of course.
