Lap of Honour

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

So we can throw things at them if they lose?

I think a lap of honour would only be appropriate if they win and therefore possibly cement a top 4 spot

Depending on results tonight even with a win on saturday we could still finish outside the top 4 so they can fuck off if they think they have anything to a lap of honour about.

this will be the first time in 3 seasons i will have to watch the full 90 minutes during last home game.

i cant condone the lap of failure , its pathetic considering the way we end most seasons.

Why will you do this? Are you going to go give some stick at FT?

No. Normally by now we have gone on a run of bad games but safely cemented 4th spot so last 1-3 games are pointless and shameful.

This time we have gone on a bad run but have nothing cemented.

Norwich we are fighting and same at WB. So I will be there supporting for 90 minutes.

Fair enough, I thought you meant that this game was pointless.

It's a mixed bag really. SOME of the players deserve their lap of honour... Wenger certainly doesn't.. and some of the players deserve a muted response at best.

Those who don't...

Wenger and the board made a complete balls up of this season and we've been stumbling along ever since. Quite frankly, they should be ashamed.

Those who do...

Thanks to players like Van Persie, Vermaelen, Koscielny, Arteta, Song, etc. we've managed to recover from a hammer blow of a summer (losing Nasri & Cesc), a season long injury to Wilshere, and a horrendous start to the season, to not only avoid a mid-table/relegation battle (yes, many on here thought that might happen) to be favourites for 3rd with 2 games to play.

For a very average team (the worst in Wenger's 15 years) to possibly finish 3rd ahead of Liverpool, Chelsea and Sp*rs deserves recognition.

It's Wenger and the board who should be ashamed. The players - considering how average they are as a team - have outdone most peoples expectations, and that deserves applauding.

I'll make sure I go to the bar as soon as the game finishes. The thought of some of our muppet fans applauding another year of failure would be too much.

They're not applauding "failure"; that would be ridiculous - many will be applauding the effort and contribution of some of the players.

Read my post above to see why I'll be applauding RvP, Koscielny, Vermaelen, etc.

Why are some people on here so disrespectful of those whose views differ from their own? :( - Of course, it's your right not to applaud RvP and co. but I'm not a muppet for thinking some players have earned it, surely? :?
