Out of Contract Players 2012

Post by frankbutcher »

Makes interesting reading. Claims that Almunia AND Flappy are out of contract this Summer?? Please note that they have included expiring loan deals, so ignore the likes of Ryo, Frimpong and Drenthe etc.

Anyone you'd have on here?

Rodallega and Hoillett (Tribunal)..

Jara from the Spanish League?

Pandev or Flamini?

Inter Milan's Chivu was always a very good player - 31yrs old and can play left back

No idea what condition he's in like, so maybe he's out of contract for a reason. :?

Hoilett for attacking midfield.

Maduro if we fail in bid for Vertonghen in defense/defensive midfield.

Foster for second choice keeper.

I notice that Ukrainian international GK Andriy Pyatov is out of contract this summer, maybe good back up?

Would also take Pandev.

As much as the way he left before left a sour taste in the mouth, I would take Flamini back in a heartbeat.

But saying that would we be getting the same player back as he has been out injured for a long time, would take him over Song anyday though.

Same as, flamini would be an excellant addition to the squad, I'd rather have him back than see him go to another prem club!

Raul has said he wants less competitive football than the Bundesliga, so he will not be coming to England. Look for him to end up in Dubai or China, or possibly the MLS.

I like Hoilett because I *believe* he'd be the first ever Canadian at Arsenal. Will have to look into this.

Riccardo Montolivo would be a great acquisition on a free.

van Bommel would be an interesting defensive stopper off the bench, but he's probably too old for the Prem. Zambrotta is another pretty experienced defender who appears to be available.

And while I haven't seen him play in quite some time, oldtimer Marcos Senna used to be a pretty steady midfielder. Don't know if the years are catching up fast with him though.

Can't we get Jeremie Aliadiere back ?

I remember how he, Lupoli and Quincy were going to be the 3 world class strikers that our fabled youth academy had produced

Jesus some of the nominations on this thread are truly f**king frightening - half the f**kers should be on zimmer frames and most of the rest wouldnt be worth signing anyway  Are we interested in improving or just bein g the same old same old ?

Hoillet is probably the only player I would sign (although maybe foster too) but that is purely as a squad man cos having chamakh, park, walnut etc as other existing options fcuks me right off

does anyone know why Inter Milan's Chivu is on a free? - he was a class defender who could play centre back or left back, and at 31yrs of age would still have a few years ahead of him.

Surely, Inter would be desperate to keep him.

Mind you, he did always seem to have an injury, so maybe he's done a Michael Owen and expired early? :(

Although a good defender once upon a time, he's definitely past it now and would be a similar signing to the Silvestre one.
