Vieira's comments

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Vieria - Jumping on the bandwagon? or not?

Post by romfordwisp »

Just seen Paddy v on telly and saw him last week watching city play, sitting there with some old git in his man city blazer and city tie matching the other board members and clapping away, i cant help thinking blimey! he only played for them for five minutes and now he's like there greatest fan, don't get me wrong it's not sour grapes and i think he's still a legend but i think he's more ours than theirs and if city were shit he would'nt be there in blazer and tie etc even if he does do something or other for there club, so i think he's jumping on the city band wagon a bit.... but well done to city on buying i mean winning the league there real fans deserve it, it must have been terrible living in the shadow of there greater neighbours for so many years, now who does that remind you of?

Because Wenger wouldnt give him a job at Arsenal. We prefer the pay Diaby £3m a year to play for half an hour

Should have been brought in to replace Rice at the end of last season

Should have been employed by us, no ifs buts or maybe's as he has the winning mentality that so many of our squad lack .

just look what the return of Henry did for the players and also the crowd too and think what a rousing version of "Vieira" at every match would do to create an atmosphere at the Emirates.

Even if he had only played a bit part - half a dozen matches, sub appearances etc his presence alone would have been a huge boost to our ailing club.

Man City are not stupid, they want winners involved with their club.

We should have offered Vieira, Adams, Keown, Dixon and Winterburn coaching jobs, and Campbell too.

These were our winners and we need a winning mentality to be in the club.

Nope, just a winner - With Arsenal, Juventus, France, Man City - he is there doing a good job on good money who can blame him

Mancini has surround himself with winners, and now they have won the league (bar only on goal difference)

He was wears a City tie and blazer because he's effectively at work. He's their Football Development Executive.

He´s theirs.
Feels like you had a girlfriend for 10 years or more and she broke up. She´s now with the new boy - even if you think she´s more yours.

I love Paddy, and going from how he tweets etc he obviously still has a huge affection for Arsenal, but he was hardly the most loyal of guys when playing for us. How many bloody summers was he off to Real?!!

he is certainly theirs.

I certainly don't consider him on the same level as Thierry. Vieria has always looked out for number one.

True - but when she sits down and thinks about things in her more quieter moments, she'll know deep in her heart that our techniques and patient, methodical and thoughtful approach was ultimately more satisfying than the 30 second 'Wham, Bam, Thank You Mam' kind of gratification she gets now!! 8)
