Arsenals Reputation

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Arsenals Reputation

Post by supergeorgegraham »

Only one team can win the Champions League. When you say the name AC Milan you know that they have been the best in Europe.
Teams like that have 4 or 5 years of underachieving and then they will suddenly bounce back and win their domestic league and be a force in Europe again.
We all know Real Madrid have not done well in Europe lately but we know they are Champions in Spain this year beating the amazing Barcelona.
Bounce a few names about, Man United, Liverpool, Inter Milan, Yes Bayern Munich, Barcelona etc etc.
Now we have a new name Chelsea !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They have joined that exclusive club that makes you a bigger club. We all know the story and the money and false position but that does not matter now.
Arsenal FC were about the 4th or 5th richest club in the world in terms on revenue and income. Self sustaining model basicly comes from the huge fan base around the world. Next season many people will be viewing Chelsea as a bigger club than Arsenal because they are winning trophies.
Its only a matter of time before City start to knock on that door. Funny though that it was Drogba that really did the damage and the expensive Torres is still useless.
I will end with this, In Robin Van Persie we have the best striker in the Prem and only Messi and Ronaldo are above him in quality.
If he stays fit and if he stays we might be able to bring some pride back to our reputation.
Wenger really doesnt matter as he has 2 years left at best. I cant see this Chelsea win sitting well with the City win and leaving us looking like has beens again.
Manchester United will be back next season so Arsenal must pick up our game.
We need to win the Prem or the Champ League to restore pride.

Thanks to Wenger and our penny pinching board, we'll no longer be able to chant at the Chavs ''Shit club - no history'' Wenger had a warning in 2008 and took no notice, thanks Arsene... - anyway, what the fuck does Arsene actually know? apart from qualifying for a revenue stream competition in a tailed off 3rd or 4th place.

"One club in London" is also gone

Heard those Chav bastards last night sing "Chelsea had won a double" and "Super Chelsea, by far greatest team"... that used to be us :banghead:

Well that would be the case if it was just 1 season but it isn't. We pay the highest prices to watch football in the world, the club now makes 3 million per home game, where's the investment? I don't think it's asking alot considering where we were in 2004 to where we are now is it? :?
