Stop the doom and gloom!

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Stop the doom and gloom!

Post by skizz_b »

Every thread is doom and gloom on here at the minute and yes, while we are in a bit of a stupour I'd like to challenge everyone to name at least ONE positive thing about AFC at the moment. It can be anything, but since it's very easy to criticise I think we should all remember that we are Arsenal fans for a reason...it's not like the sole reason we are Gooners is because we all like a good moan, is it? ... :?

I'm going to go first...I love our away support. Much as the Emirates can be soulless at times, I love the fact that even though we have been absolute shite at times, we all band together and don't let any of our own take shit off the opposition fans - be that Wenger or anyone else. Our away trips are still the stuff of legend to me and the boys! :barscarf:

The thing I like most about the arsenal at the moment is that we don't have another competitive game until next August :barscarf:

Right, positives

1. We went the whole league season unbeaten - the only team to achieve this in the modern era - and it has been officially honoured in the PL 20 year awards

2. We can list Dennis Bergkamp as one of our own - the finest player I have seen grace these shores and someone I wouldn't have swapped for anyone back in the day

3. We still qualified for the CL and Spurs did not, despite the fact that they had a 10 point (at one stage in the derby 13 point) lead over us, and today are feeling even worse than we are (apart from the 100£% English fans they have that are still celebrating JT lifting the European Cup)

4. In Alex Oxlade Chamberlain and Jack Wilshere (if he gets fit again) we have two of the most promising English youngsters I've seen in a long time

5. Abou

There - that's pretty good going from me :D

1) we have the coach of the decade still in charge :barscarf:

2) Robin Van Persie

3) Theo Walcott

4) Alex Song

5) I was going to say the pies at the Emirates but they even changed these this season :(
the Hot Chocolate? :?
