OX Dropped

Post by supergeorgegraham »

Another England manager adopts the out of form tactic. Carrol starts instead and Young is preferred to Walcott.
I am not biased but Carrol is shocking and Young was awful against the French. Ox played well in a really tough game for him.

I'm glad. Would hate him to get injured playing for England

Its called changing your tactics to suit the oppo youre facing. Its something we never see at Arsenal but i think its an excellent idea

They are totally different types of players. For example of we are playing a more direct style tonight then bringing in Caroll for the Ox is exactly the right thing to do

I agree, its not so savage as being dropped, its tactical and I think its right.

We need to win tonight and Carroll will be important.

But surely pace against a dodgy Sweedish defence is the way to go? I could possibly understand him against the Ukraine but not the Swedish. And why the hell is James Milner playing?

Miner plays because he's a grafter and Hodgson must like that.

You can tell that Hodgson wants them to be compact and disciplined first so if he's playing with Carroll and Wellbeck then he only needs Young or Chamberlin.

There's no way he would drop Young for Chamberlin.

A grafter? He might run about but he doesn't actually achieve anything

IMO The Ox was the most exciting player on the pitch for us on Monday (albeit we wern't that exciting), woeful decision to drop him.
