Flamini return: Yes or No?

Flamini return: Yes or No?

Post by spendsum4uckingmoney »

Flamini has been given a free. He was excellent during the 07/08 season for us and we were all gutted to see him go then. I say yes as a back up holding midfielder. He has to take a pay cut though like 40k a week max.

No. Was admittedly a key player for us during that time but as desperate as I am for a holding midfielder we're better than lowering ourselves to begging a mercenary like him to come back, not to mention my doubts over whether or not he can still be a key player.

Do you think it was worth it for him?

I'm sure he'd be delighted to resign for us as a back up player taking a pay cut.

This forum really has deteriorated.

No ta, was excellent in 07/08 as was putting himself in the shop window. He left for money (a la Marseille) and has been released by Milan due to wage demands.

Thanks for the memories but I wouldn't want him back, in spite of our need for a player of his industry.

Much as admired his application when he had that good season turned out to be an ''in it for the cash no loyalty merchant''. Not for me

NO.

You should have included a Poll (yes or No) something tell's me it would have been a resounding No.

Current central midfielders who play in the deeper positions:

First Team:

Wilshere
Arteta
Song
Diaby
Ramsey
Coquelin
Rosicky (very occasionally in that position)

Carling Cup Possibles:

Yennaris
Aneke
Bartley
Henderson

Injured but supposedly available from January

Frimpong

That list suggests to me that we need quality not quantity. If we want to strengthen in these positions we should either be going for a top level performer such as M'Vila, or for a genuine utility player such as Vertonghen.

Flamini can also play at full back; not bad as a left back, but looked uncomfortable as a right back.

If we sell off Song and Diaby and fail to get M'Vila or equivalent and need an extra player to make up squad numbers then Flamini could be ok as a last minute utility buy, but I would hope the club are not making him a priority.

Lets just carry on playing Diaby £60k a week shall we?

Flamini was a free agent just like Sol was when he joined us

I'd rather Wenger got on the phone to Clarence Seedorf and get him on a free. Flamini stitched wenger up, he'll hardly welcome him back. So, NO!
