Fever Pitch : The Closest Championship ever
Fever Pitch : The Closest Championship ever
Just noticed an hour long show titled Fever Pitch : The Closest Championship ever is on ESPN Classic tonight at 11:05.
Not sure if it is hour long highlights or a documentary but worth recording either way.

The fact I wasn't alive for that game was somewhat remedied by the fact that we had the full 90 minutes (plus stoppage time
) on VHS. Whilst most kids were out playing at the age of 6 I was sat glued to the telly watching Hansen, Nicol and Grobelaar pass it in triangles for hours just so that I could see the goals. Worth it.

Dalglish looked absolutely sick when Thomas scored, just stood there arms folded good enough for the *word censored*. You can tell Hansen et al are still bitter about that night

Still the greatest moment ever.
Those Slysports arseholes pissed me off with their hysteria on the last day of last season and their claims of "There has never been a tighter finish to a league season" and "the most exciting finish to a season ever". Fucking arseholes.
But of course there was no football before the PL...

Even to this day I use the one minute gag.
Took some of my pupils to RAF Duxford on a school trip two weeks back. When asked how long we had left to get there I replied with
In about 10 McMahon's
The kids know what I mean

Fever Pitch
Just returned from my hols and as you do I decided to take a good book rather than having to listen to the missus whining about how hot it is ( I mean, what is the point? Don't go abroad if you don't like the bleedin sun!!!)
It's been a few years since I last read it and I still reckon it's a great read, particularly if you're the slightly more mature Gooner and can remember being at games in the 70s and 80s that he refers to!
Was wondering if anyone knew him or knows if he's still a regular? Is he one of these annoying 'celebrity' supporters that wind people up these days?
Anyway if you haven't read it then you should.
