Citeh a tad sour for no particular reason ?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Citeh a tad sour for no particular reason ?

Post by OOKed »

Take a chill pill Citeh .. it was only a friendly ..
source: http://www.mcfc.co.uk/News/Team-news/20 ... tch-report

The sweltering Beijing humidity and downtown smog that shrouds the bustling Chinese capital hung heavily over the Bird’s Nest Arena and while two Premier League teams were the star attraction for the 52,000 crowd, the frenetic pace of a battle between these two English giants you’d expect back home was never likely to happen.

Arsenal won the first battle of the day with perhaps three-quarters of the Chinese spectators wearing replica Gunners tops. There were plenty of City fans dotted in the crowd and perhaps in 12 months’ time, there will be more parity.

The majority had the temerity to even boo Club Ambassador Mike Summerbee when he paraded the Premier League trophy before kick-off – Buzzer, a veteran of numerous hostile receptions at Old Trafford during his playing days, lapped it up!

With the rain unrelenting and sitting heavy on the surface, play became ragged and misplaced passes the norm, but nonetheless, City ran out comfortable winners after an impressive display in Beijing, winning many new fans in the process.

lol It's on City's official website too? Embarrassing.

I love how clubs make Asian supporters sound like the most fickle bunch of twats ever.

Very arrogant of them to actually write that... but then again, they might be onto something, lots of fans, not only in Asia, are glory hunters, and their money will buy them a few in the next years

"the frenetic pace of a battle between these two English giants you’d expect back home was never likely to happen"

The same kind of frenetic pace that they play at when they put 10 men behind the ball and play for a 0-0 draw every season at the Emirates?

Of course Asian fans are fickle glory hunters, although it is pretty bitter of City's behalf to publish that, but it would be completely disingenuous to suggest that this tour was anything other than a money-spinning venture to increase both teams' fan bases in the continent. It's almost more embarrassing that we're trying to pass it off as some kind of huge cultural and bonding trip.

It's all Propaganda. They are a joke club, people look down on them more than they did the chavs because once again the only reason they have won anything is their dirty oil money, they know that there are "fans" from the far east seeing this shit who probably didnt even watch the game so try to make out they are something they are not.

Wouldnt surprise me if that joke story about them trying to buy our history was true!

May also be due to the fact that red is a very popular coulour overe there which is why most support either Arsenal or Man Utd.

For a Club thats won fcuk all since 2005 Arsenals Asian support is Holding up very well thank you very much !
The Arsenal Supporters Club here in Singapore has around 250 members and is probably the largest Official Supporters Club on the Island even though Liverpool and MUFC have larger support on the whole .

Chelsea's support here is pathetic as is Cities ,even those people from up the road have a bigger and longer historical support .
The evidence of this support was clear in Malaysia where large delegations came from Indonesia Singapore and the Philippines and again in HK and Bejing !

Just think what would happen if we actually started winning things again !

It's just a marketing ploy.

This season-Our tour to the far east this season was great but with a few supporters.

Next season-our tour to the far east this season was great and our support has increased greatly since our trip last season.
