BSM Membership

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

http://www.blackscarfafc.co.uk/#/news-j ... 4567696797

First I've seen of any membership to the Black Scarf Movement, is anyone here

a) going to sign up
b) Already involved with them

or c) It's more cliquey than it is here so sitting on the fence?

What are they going to get done? Tbh I know fairly little about them, just check their site now and again and saw the posters obviously...

A) signed up
B) have been involved since the start
C) no cliques at all

As REB states . . . a voice for the common man (or woman, as Eric Idle said in Life of Brian)

We've listened to fans since the billboard went up and embarrassed the fuck out of Gazadis (got that from an insder, though the club would never admit it). For the BSM to move FORWARD? some form of membership is a necessity. We hope you find something with this movement that others do not offer and join with us.

reading the BSM website it sounds reasonable to the point of redundancy
no different in stated aims from AISA

Reg what plans do BSM have going forward? I'm happy to sign up and pay full whack if the good work continues but not much is mentioned on the site like JD said

To represent the views of all Arsenal fans, to be a pain in the arse to the board when necessary, not to compromise our belief that loyal fans should be rewarded by the club. To represent the disenfranchised Arsenal fan, the lad that's finally been priced out, but the love for his club will never die.

The club have twice invited us to meet with them and tried to 'control' us. If it means we have to curb our actions so we can talk to the club . . . then they are very much mistaken. Let's put them in a position where they HAVE to listen to Arsenal fans.

The cost of our GREED banner was met by selling scarves, but someone put they hand in their own pocket first to buy a stock of scarves. The billboard was paid for by one BSM supporter although he'll get repaid at some point . . . he's in no rush.

The money raised from membership will go towards further campaigns (another billboard more likely) and raising our profile to other Arsenal fans. It will not be used for gin and tonic in the WM Club.

its a strange website then - theres nothing there the club wouldnt agree with
my feeling is the true views/plans are more extreme than that website indicates
(my opinions are way more extreme than that and I see myself as less revolutionary than BSM bods...)

I have warmed to the BSM as time has gone on, and think that at least they are being a voice that actually questions the clubs.

Dont see why you should have to pay to be a member though, dont agree with any fan groups charging for membership, donations are fine when action is planned.
