Lies,lies and more lies
there seems little point in trying to argue with all the optimists on here who seem to have conveniently forgotten the last few seasons of gradual decline so instead take a look at this article on the main page of the online gooner.
http://onlinegooner.com/article.php?sec ... ve&id=2756
this guy at least has more of an idea what is going on unlike most posters on here who would prefer to stick their heads in the sand.

I can't make up my mind on whether you know how much your opinions seem to vacillate. Where does this idea that you are the only critic on this forum come from? It's very strange.
PS: who are these optimists? I can think of one, HJD, and I'm pretty sure he's exiled himself.

Re: Lies,lies and more lies
I've said this once and I'm sure I'll say it a thousand times more - take everything the OP says with a pinch of salt. His opinions are (metaphorically) pulled from a hat. Last season he was an unwavering optimist - now all is doom and gloom. Not sure whether he's actually a Gooner or not (see drinking at CL games), but he's clearly a WUM in so much as he posts for one reason and one reason only - to get a reaction. You can't tell what his real opinion is (if indeed he has one) because he's just as likely to say that Denilson is a good player as he is to say that Wojciech Szczęsny is useless.
Seeing that he is undoubtedly a WUM, he should have been banned from here a long time ago. However, the only reason that he hasn't is because he is completely irrelevant. His posts that are designed to get an reaction out of you resonate for a moment, but then after a couple of seconds, he's completely forgotten
Anyway, great thread, Red. I can see this being one of the all-time greats.

Re: Lies,lies and more lies
it is true that I was more optimistic last season but there are good reasons for this.
when after we lost 8-2 at Old Trafford I came on here confidently predicting that we would finish in the top 4 I gained a reputation as a WUM on here as no one else could believe that this was possible. But of course we still had world class players back then such as Song and RVP so I knew things would turn around. Not so fortunate this season.
also last season I was prepared to give the club a chance after they sold Nasri and Fabregas in August, not thinking they would be so stupid again. We also had not ensured CL qualification so it was very difficult to buy anyone in.
this season I would have thought that with CL qualification assured the club would have tried to strengthen, but no that costs money. Of course they have conned a few people again by buying 3 half decent players, but forgetting to inform anyone that to pay for those we would once again sell our best players as the season started.
we may well make the top 4 again - but is that all this club is capable of aiming for anymore?

Under the current regime YES

Re: Lies,lies and more lies
I don't understand why everyone on here hates Red tbh as he said more than once that he would give the board one last chance and obviously they screwed it once again by selling two of the most important players and not spending more money than the money they got from the sales
[I understand that most people on here think that Song isn't good enough to play for Arsenal (I don't really agree) but he was an important part of the team (as is/was Walcott btw)]
So I don't really understand why Red should be a WUM at all

Re: Lies,lies and more lies
so basically Red's opinion is (largely) everyone else's opinion at the start of the season in 2011?

and Almunia is better than Chesney and the 8-2 defeat was irrelevant and you can buy beer at half time at the European Cup nights and Song and Walcott are world class players dont forget 'world class' ..... do you want me to go on?skizz_b wrote:so basically Red's opinion is (largely) everyone else's opinion at the start of the season in 2011?

Re: Lies,lies and more lies
kroenke has done a great job at the moment, my only problem is wasting money on shit like cazorla and podolski when we had top talent at the club like vela and miyaichi
kroenke shouldn't have let wenger spend that money, we need that to use for walcott's new mega bucks contract. It's a farce he isn't being paid at least 150k a week, he's our only world class player left.
